Have to go for Drivers License renewal tomorrow and they want what????

1. Tax bill (for proof of residence)
2. Passport
3.Social Security Card
4.W-2
5.Birth Cert.

And guess what once I get there they are going to say "You don't need all this stuff all you need is your drivers license"

I'll be pissed............

I got my birth certificate and SS card, and that's enough.

Side note:

I can't get my new license without my birth certificate. How do I get my birth certificate? Show them my current DL.

Being a websites/google nerd, I arrived at DL office with (newly required) documentation from column 1 and column 2..... poor harrassed state office employee gal tol me she was glad her retirement that year; as the stress from regulars (?I?ve renewed my DL same way since 1965") was too much

You can do it online with the state where you were born. Just do some searching. You can have it in 2 days if you want to pay extra.

Hey Morris, you're talking about the "enhanced license requirements for NY State"
If you have a valid passport, you don't need the enhanced NY license.
I have the NY enhanced but it wasn't necessary I later found out as my passport is sufficient for any air travel.

I was able to renew mine for 8 years last year on line.
If I don?t move or lose it, when it expires it will have been 13 years since the state of iowa will have had a current picture of me.

I went in for DL renewal and the new compliant ID and they only wanted my Birth Certificate, proof of address, and current license. Not sure what I'll actually be getting in the mail becuase the lady at the registration desk said the compliant ID has been pushed out at least a year but the girl that processed the transaction said I'd be getting the compliant version of the DL.

True, but I'd rather just get the upgraded license and leave the passport for international travel only.
