HDTV Question, whats the difference

between 1080i and 1080p?

Whats the difference between the two.

1080i is interlaced and 1080p is progressive scan.

To put this in easy terms - 1080 progressive the picture is much more clear - however HDTV can only display in 1080i and the PS3 games - some of them display in 1080p.
