Im just curious how many of us are there.

I just got HDTV this week and thought more channels had HDTV...but I guess they will be added as time goes by.

I have Comcast cable and for now I only et NBC ABC WHYY Comcast Sportsnet(most important) HBO and Showtime.

Also when my cable guy hooked me up he said he wasnt gonna split to do PIP because my signal wasnt strong enough. Which kind of sucks cuz I just got the TV. I dunno if I can do anything about that or just split it anyway and see how the pic is.
I get to watch my first game in HDTV tonight..phils/mnt Cant Wait!!

right now there are 7 you have

espn hd 73
dhdt 76
hdn 79
hdnm 81
ppvh 85
hboh 88
shoh 91

it is a extra 10:95 a month and that will never change they are going to add more in the next month and keep adding them. I have the new hdtv plasma wide screen from mitsubishi it is all hdtv ready but to make it work right still had to buy the huges hdtv box and have a 3 prong dish.

hope that helps and it is just unreal. and you dvd's will come out the same.

your signal will never be strong enough even if it is a hdtv set like mine 6400 bucks and had it set up and was not sharp had to have the person who was putting home theatre in the celling do it all the store cir. city had no clue they try to run it with s-video to boost it but had blocking and was not sharp with the box and the 3 prongs and all hooked up with dvd and hdtv box it looks like you are there.

I have the Panasonic 53" and personally I think you have to be a tinkerer at heart to have a projection TV. Its a lot of shit to deal with and any techno/audio geek will automatically know more than the CC a-holes. I bought my TV there b/c they had the best deal, but I found a Panny website and found all the pertinent info from them. Eventually I would upgrade to a flat panel tube tv because the picture is slightly better, but for now the projection is great.

The most important thing to me was not just finding the best HDTV but also the one with the most points of convergence available in the tuning menu. Mine has 64, I understand there are more out there now. I dont think you should be fooled by the ones that promise the perfect picture, because inevitably when its being moved in or whatnot, it will get bumped and you will need to refocus the guns. I have opened mine up a few times to clean them off and manually retune everything. I love it.

DirecTv has a seperate package as well as an OTA antenna to get shows like CSI and Law and Order. I would count on the Fall season to have a number of additional shows in HD.

Its really great for a guy like me who doesnt mind cracking open and expensive piece of equipment and fiddling with it. It will give you the best ways to tune your tv, best ways to get into the maintenence menus that are not "supposed" to be available to consumers. Cool stuff if you're into that kind of thing. Also great forums if you have any questions.
