Mexico City (AFP) - Mexican authorities recaptured fugitive drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman on Friday, six months after his spectacular prison break, President Enrique Pena Nieto said, triumphantly declaring "mission accomplished."
"Mission accomplished: We got him. I want to inform Mexicans that Joaquin Guzman Loera has been arrested," Pena Nieto wrote on Twitter, without elaborating. He was scheduled to address the nation later Friday.
