It’s going to be exceedingly hot over much of the country this weekend.

Do you factor this into your handicapping?

I would think your power 5 teams would have the depth to rotate many more players to keep everyone as fresh as possible.

Thoughts?

Most teams will play a number of players as they do the first week, so I do consider that when capping, also do they have a new Head Coach? Transfer portal players? Field conditions/turf they use, returning starters on both sides of the ball, have they played against their opponent before? What was the score last time they played if last year? All factors used to cap!! Hope this helps some!

i don't really think about that this time of year, because everybody is used to the heat. maybe a month from now, if a team that's been enjoying fall-like weather has to travel to an area that's still hot and humid... then it's a factor.

interesting point about roster depth though. generally, a power 5 team playing against a non-power 5 team will already be a sizable favorite. but it could certainly be a factor if a lesser power-5 team was playing a decent non-power 5 team. could be a big difference between the back-ups.
