there is a recent heat wave in places in the US where they grow corn...grow a lot of corn.
the US is the Arabia of corn growing, some states could qualify as leading producers, okay a record amount has been planted but there has been a brutal heat wave and no or little rain.
on this news corn, soybeans, jumped and the fert, stocks, jumped over 10-20% that is nice, well for the most part long, took some profits.
however had an option on POT for July and noticed from last week in June to now it went up 22X, okay these are high risk and if they got rain there would be no rally, but these stocks pop 10% which they can do, down or up, easily.
next time will take some money and look and playing some options like these, please note this is risk capital would expect you lose 90% of the time.
this is like picking a long shot at the track. so only in certain situation when you think the odds are in your favour and even then expect to lose your money.
