Well it is back!! :jump:

Europes premier domestic rugby tournament returns tomorrow night after a month long lay off due to the Autumn rugby internationals.

From a personal point of view, I will be looking to start off where we left the tournament in round two hitting 83% over the tournaments first two rounds.

Check back tomorrow after 18:00pm GMT for Fridays write ups.

I look forward to the comments from the regular visitors to these rugby threads e.g Hoss, British Bulldog etc, and hope we can attract more readers from the other sports threads. :)

I'm ready crooky,

Probably wont post till Saturday morning. Got meeting at sons school with the head. Son been bullied for money and refused. Badly hurt, hospital job, police involved. Cant get my head around matters. Betting taking a back seat today and tomorow.

If I cant post I will tail you. Great job you've done so far:clap: :thumb: You've certainly been :firing: them in.

E-mailed you Tuesday, thought you might have posted back on the thread. The bets by me on the worthington cup was a winner.

Speak to you soon, dont forget when you win the welsh boys will be "singing in the valleys".

MUNSTER vs VIADANA (Cork, 19:30 GMT)

The best team in Ireland face a straight forward task tonight in tackling the hapless Italians. Viadana conceded over seventy points at home against Gloucester, and although they travelled to France and produced a battling display against Perpignon, they face another impossible task again.

Munster name a strong team, although club stalwart Mick Galway is missing , but they can look to the one of the best back rowers in world rugby, namely one Jim Williams formerly a wallaby, but now packing down in a strong and powerful Munster pack. If Munster do not take their foot off the gas in the second half, then it could be a cricket score. The handicap of 37 points looks well within their grasp.

2 Points Win Munster (-37) at 4/7 with Tote

SALE vs LLANELLI (Sale, 19:45 GMT)

Sale have been devestating in the Zurich Premiership so far, but have been a massive disappointment in the Heineken Cup, lying bottom of their relative pool. This is a must win game for them, if they have any realistic ambitions of qualifying for the next stage.

However, Llanelli are in a similar position, having already lost away to Bourgoin of France. The Scarlets name no less than 14 internationals, and their only non capped player, Matthew J Watkins is a friend of mine, and will probably earn his first cap in due time. The task facing Llanelli tonight is the type they thrive on. Thousands of welsh fans will travel north and sing their hearts out, which will lift the team and see them produce a gritty display.

1 Point Win Llanelli (+8) at 5/6 with the Tote

ULSTER vs BIARRITZ (Belfast 19:30 GMT)

If you had been a reader of my previous rugby work, you will know that I fancy Biarritz to lift the Heineken Cup this year. Already top of their division in France, they have shown their class early in the tournament, with successive victories over Cardiff and Northampton. However, I dont have them down to go through their group unbeaten, and fancy they might just lose in Belfast tonight.

Ulster are a very decent team at Belfast, and possess a leathal goal kicker in Irish fly-half David Humphreys. This is another game they have to win, and on a cold Irish Friday night, they should go into Round 4 with a very good chance of advancing to the next stage.

1 Point Win Ulster (+3) vs Biarritz at 5/6 with the Tote

Hoss, I am almighty glad I found the Tote site as well mate! :D They offered the best handicaps tonight, but had I played with virtually any bookmaker in Europe, I still would have won tonight!

However, there is no time to boast. Like Hoss, I too will be unable to post tomorrow due to work commitments, so will post my plays on Saturdays games tonight. Check back in a hour or two for tomorrows picks.

Just want to congratulate Hoss on a great pick again tonight!
:)

RESULTS :

MUNSTER 64-0 VIADANA
SALE 19-30 LLANELLI
ULSTER 13-9 BIARRITZ

Swansea vs Bristol (St.Helens, Swansea, 14:30 GMT)

The All Whites of Swansea were once the kings of Welsh rugby. Oh, but how things have changed. The retirement of some Swansea stalwarts has hit them bad in recent seasons, and with their senior players getting no younger, it is hard to see a bright future for the Welsh seaside rugby team.

This is reflected in their form this season, in which they have taken some bad hammerings, including one from Irish province Leinster in this seasons Heineken Cup. In fairness to them, they have been drawn in the toughest gruop in the Heineken Cup and tomorrows task is no easier.

Bristol have recovered from a shaky start to their season, and are now unbeaten in their last five matches. They possess a leathal partnership at half backs in Argentinain duo, Pichot and Contepomi, and travel to St.Helens waiting on a gametime decision regarding lock Gareth Archer. With or without Archer, they are more than capable of victory in what is a must win game for Bristol, having been drawn in such a difficult pool.

1 Point Win Bristol (-4) at 10/11 with PaddyPower (The line is also available with Victor Chandler)

Edinburgh vs Toulouse (Edinburgh, Scotland 15:00 GMT)

Edinburgh were dealt a massive blow last week, when they were defeated by Cardiff in the quarter final of the Celtic League. The bookies had made the scots eight point favourites, and they blew a 19-3 half time lead to lose the match. I am afraid this defeat may have blown away their confidence this season. New Zealander Todd Blackadder would have rallied his troops in traning all week, awaiting the arrival of French wizards Toulouse.

The french team along with Biarritz were my early season tournament tips, and I have seen nothing so far to alter that prediction. Two successive victories in the tournament so far means a victory in Scotland should gaurantee their involvement in the latter stages. With the match going out live on British TV, the french will be eager to show the British exactly what they can do. Look to the French team to run the ball from everywhere, and leave the Scots chewing on their haggis come five o clock tomorrow.

1 Point Win Toulouse (-3) at 10/11 with PaddyPower

Northampton vs Cardiff (Franklin Gardens, Northampton 15:00 GMT)

Possibly the welsh club performance of the season from Cardiff last weekend. They travelled up to Edinburgh last week with a depleted pack of forwards only to pull off an astonishing victory. Coach David Young had to come out of retirement for that game, and propped down for Cardiff and as expected, let nobody down. He again has no choice but to select himself for tomorrows trip to Northampton.

Northampton are the toast of English rugby at the moment, having ended Leicesters five year home domination of rugby. Matt Dawson was wounded in that victory and misses out on the next two rounds of Heineken Cup. Another friend of mine turns out for the Saints, in prop Chris Budgeon. I got to know Chris when he came over from New Zealand, and he will pull no punches in propping down against David Young tomorrow.

I suspect the victory will have taken a lot out of Cardiff last weekend, and I cannot fancy a repeat here. In contrast the Saints victory over Leicester will only bolster their confidence, and I expect it to kick start the season. Northampton were guilty of creating our one Heineken Cup loss this season this year. I expect them to make up, and bring home the money tomorrow.

1 Point Win Northampton (-13) at 5/6 with Ladbrokes (The line is also available with the Tote)

One last thing before I go for the night.

Anybody looking for some advice on the reamaining games tomorrow...I can reveal that Neath (-16) and Montferrand (-4) were very close to becoming plays for me tomorrow. However, there are certain factors in each game that meant I held back.

This is not it for the weekend, as there are more games on Sunday which will complete Round three. :p

Check back Sunday morning GMT for the final plays of this week.

Good Luck :)

Four plays from me today.

NEATH (-17) to beat Calvisano @10/11
TOULOUSE (-3) to beat Edinburgh @ 10/11
NORTHAMPTON (-14) to beat Cardiff @ 10/11 (sorry crooky) *see below
PERPIGNAN (+19) to beat Gloucester @ 10/11

* = Editted

I notice Tote still offer NORTHAMPTON -13 @ 5/6, so this bet replaces above.

Well, I finally jumped on....and am happy with 2-1 for the day. I could only take Northhampton in a 3-teamer though (Darlington and Falkirk came through).
Nice going crooky.........5-1 so far!

EDINBURGH 9-30 TOULOUSE
SWANSEA 26-19 BRISTOL
NORTHAMPTON 25-11 CARDIFF

Another profitable day. I was shocked by Swansea defeating Bristol. It would have taken probably their best performance of the season to beat Bristol, and it looks like they have produced just that. Toulouse strolled to victory in Scotland without having to touch anything near their best rugby, and we sneaked home with Northampton to complete a satisfying day.

Congratulations again to Hoss on the Leinster pick. You definitely saw something I didnt in that game. I certainly know Leinster are one of the best teams in Europe, but I wanted to see how they could perform in France first. Having defeated Montferrand in their own back yard, they are most capable of going all the way in the Heineken cup.

It is great to see the likes of alb and Ronnieseah joining in on the action from countries far away. I hope you can both spread the word about the work we are doing in this thread. ;)

Back tomorrow around 11 am GMT with previews of tomorrows games which will conclude round 3 of the Heineken Cup. :)

Bourgoin vs Glasgow (Bourgoin, France, 15:00 GMT)

The Scottish team Glasgow have been pretty dismal on their travels this season, and will not relish this daunting visit to Bourgoin of France. Already hammered by Llanelli in this very tournament, their chances of progressing are pretty slim, and they must win this to keep any chance of advancing.

Bourgoin on the other hand despite possessing less internationals than their opponents today, are the surprise leaders of their Heineken Cup pool, after victories over Llanelli and a great win in defeating Zurich side Sale in their own back yard. Their home form has been impressive in the French league this season, and if they can roll over the likes of Llanelli at thier home ground, then Glasgow are unlikely to cause them any major problems. Edinburgh proved to be a real mismatch with Toulouse yesterday, and it is set to be another dominant afternoon for the French over Scottish rugby. Coral have made a mistake in setting the French team a handicap of just eleven points, and they are taken to overcome the handicap with ease.

2 Point Win Bourgoin (-11) at 4/6 with Coral Eurobet

That concludes my plays for Round Three. Leans towards Gloucester -15 and Biarritz +6 in the other games being played today, but not sufficient enough confidence for them to become plays.

YTD will be updated after the conclusion of the matches.

Good Luck :)

BOURGOIN 35-21 GLASGOW

Bourgoin covered as expected to make it a 6-1 weekend. In fairness they did not cover as easy as expected, but none the less only a few late tries from Glasgow made us sweat. :p

YTD :

INTERNATIONAL RUGBY : 8/11 (73%) +5.61 Units
DOMESTIC RUGBY : 16/19 (84%) + 12.07 Units

OVERALL YTD :

24/30 (80%) + 17.68 UNITS (+?1768/$2787 calculated to a ?100 unit stake)

Great showing again crooky. UNBELIEVABLE:Yep: :thumb:

I managed to hit 3 out of 4 with Toulouse, Nortampton and Perpignan. I cant believe Neath let me down, especiaaly as Calvisano are very weak. Leading 22-3 at half time (covering spread) and cant go on to win the game. How many players took the field for Neath in the second half.

At least the rugby helped out over the weekend after losing four points on the football.

Only a small profit this week (depending on the golf), yet profit is profit and we keep going forward.

Good luck next week, great capping as we come to expect from you. Thanks also for the e-mail and comments for the young boy.

Hi Parlay,

Unfortunately rugby recieves poor coverage in American books, despite the USA having a rugby team of their own, and Canada having a good rugby team that has performed cridably in recent games against the top European nations.

Your option would be to open accounts with the European books I use in my posts here. They are all free to join, and are 100% safe, while most offer betting in $ currency. Perhaps your best bet initially would be to open an account with Bet365, who also offer very very good US sport coverage.

Any more questions then feel free to ask! :)

Also I would like to point out that I myself have opened accounts with some American books to use for my US sports betting. I have had no problems using these sites, so there should be no hesitiation for you Americans to open accounts with our European books.
