Just read in the newspaper about Benny Sapp transfering to Toledo. He got booted off the football team at Iowa for a public intox charge this summer and he has decided to play for your Rockets. You guys are getting a great DB that hits like a ton of bricks. He is a cousin or something of Warren Sapp, and he will have two years of playing time after he sits out next season.

Yes he`s on campus right now as a matter of fact. Thats the 4th Big-10 transfer in the matter of months. Ive seen this guy play on TV...he`s gonna be a BIG assest to our team next year. Iam very excited to see him play. I just hope he doesnt get into any trouble....then again, aint shit to do in Toledo anyways.

Nope this just in...

Former Iowa defensive back Benny Sapp will not transfer to the University of Toledo after all.

"He has decided not to enroll at Toledo," UT coach Tom Amstutz said yesterday.

Sapp arrived in Toledo Thursday morning and met with Amstutz, but by late that night he decided to head back to Iowa.

Sapp is leaning toward enrolling at Northern Iowa, a Division I-AA school where he could play immediately. It is one of the schools Sapp contacted about transferring.

Sapp was kicked off Iowa?s team by coach Kirk Ferentz Aug.15, five days after he was arrested on three misdemeanor charges, including public intoxication.

Figures......thats what I get for believing my local fishwrap could get a story right.......

On the other hand, Northern Iowa is highly ranked in I-AA so maybe the addition of Sapp will get them farther in the playoffs than last year.

Sapp woulda looked good in that Rockets gear.............:shrug:
