GAME NOTES: The Marshall Thundering Herd attempt to remain unbeaten in Mid- American Conference play tonight as they host the Toledo Rockets. Marshall has won three of its last four games to improve to 7-3 overall, including a perfect 3-0 in MAC action. On Wednesday, the Thundering Herd recorded a 69-63 victory at Buffalo, and while they have split their six road games, they enter tonight's tilt having won all four of their contests at the Henderson Center.

As for Toledo, it has dropped two of its last three decisions since running off five consecutive wins. On Wednesday night, the squad had its 13-game home winning streak snapped with a 72-65 loss to Northern Illinois. Prior to that letdown, the Rockets posted an impressive victory over nationally-ranked Michigan State on the road. Toledo owns a 31-20 lead in the all-time series between these two teams, although Marshall has won six of the last seven matchups in Huntington.

Marshall gets regular contributions at the offensive end from several players, including five who are averaging double figures in points. Ronald Blackshear has been the squad's top option all season, as he is contributing 18.7 ppg on 42.3 percent shooting from three-point range. Marvin Black, who is shooting 60.3 percent from the floor, averages 12.7 ppg and 7.8 rpg. Monty Wright (10.9 ppg), David Anderson (10.4 ppg), and Ardo Armpalu (10.3 ppg) round out the group. The Thundering Herd are scoring 80.1 ppg while surrendering 73.2 ppg.

Blackshear led the way in the win over Buffalo with 22 points, and Wright chipped in with 13. Black and Anderson tallied 10 points apiece, and Black also pulled down nine boards. Marshall turned the ball over just 10 times in the game and shot 51.1 percent from the floor en route to the victory.

Despite allowing more points than it has scored this season, Toledo enters tonight's outing two games over .500. The Rockets have relied heavily on the talented duo of Nick Moore and Keith Triplett, and those two players have yielded solid production thus far. Moore leads the team with 15.8 ppg on the strength of 45.2 percent shooting from behind the arc, and Triplett is close behind with 15.6 ppg on 50.8 percent shooting from the floor. In Wednesday's loss, Moore paced Toledo with 21 points, while forward Anton Currie was the only other Rocket in double figures with 13 points. Moore matched his career high with seven three-point field goals and tied a school record with his 229th career three-pointer. Toledo shot only 37.9 percent from the field on the night and connected on just 8-of-15 free-throw attempts.

Teams have a difficult time slowing Marshall down because the Herd possesses so many capable scorers. While Toledo will likely hang tough, expect the home team to pull away late in the second half and remain perfect in league action.

I played Toledo +170 allready....

Toledo IS the better team, however, which Toledo team will show up?!?!? The team that beat Michigan St in E. Lansing, or the team that lost to Northern on the home court...

I didnt really cap this game, I just have a gut feeling really

Good Luck :)
