Does anybody have ideas on running a golf pool, besides the ones where you pick a team of 5or6 players? Want to run something for the majors at our club. Thanks.

The one we are having is pretty much what you said...

a 5 man team, we will be using the top ten ratings...

your 1st pick is from the top 5 rated players, 2nd pick from 6 thru 10, then pick 3 players from all the rest of the golfers...

we might actually pick a 6th for a reserve if 1 player is hurt or doesn't play in one of the majors, but we have not decided on that yet...

The winner is determined by adding your players prize money..

The one I'm in uses a salary cap. 8 players with a 10 million cap. We do it for the majors only and select new players each champiponship. The salaries come from some publication and we add a couple million to TIGER (else everyone picks him, and if you do, your team is comprimised: Unless he wins). We total prize winnings each chapionship. Most $ wins. Payouts for each event and most is payed-out for years end total. Pay-outs for each event keep everyone interested til the end even if their out of the running early. Hope this helps.

Thanks Blitz and Pliskin15, those are a little different than ours and great ideas but I was hoping there was away to do it with a 100 square pool or anything easy like that. Thanks again. :toast: :drinky:

A fleeting thought......Every one picks a winner and the 72 hole total. Assuming Tiger doesn't win, you may only have one winner.
