New to NCAAB capping. Any recommendations on who the best NCAAB capper is on this site? Looking for someone to follow in order to get a hang of this and work my own caps.

Thanks fellas. GLTA!

There are a few guys on here that have carved out a niche. Box and one is good with the MAAC . Hawkeye is good with totals and the OVC, etc, etc

With so many conferences and games every night it's very easy to blow through a lot of cash quickly. I think that it's impossible to be very, very good in every conference out there. In other words, don't bite off more than you can chew.

Since you are from Ga, try just really keeping up with the ACC and SEC, maybe the Southern conference. Watch as many games as you can to draw upon your own observations. Read everything you can get your hands on then trust your own stuff to make plays on the teams that your familiar with. Also Check daily for injuries and suspensions. I can't stress that enough.

It's nice to check and see who the better cappers are on but don't blindly follow anybody.

The thrill is in the hunt.

Thanks much for this. A buddy of mine were just talking about this recently as he is getting into it as well. We both went to ACC schools and focus most of our time watching/researching those schools. Maybe this can become our niche. I really appreciate the advice and totally agree that the thrill is in the chase.

Another thing I want to make sure I understand is Units vs. %. I've been following Thunder for a while on some of his NCAAF plays and he always bets 3%-7%. I've noticed a lot of guys on here use Units. What would be the equation 1unit = X%? Or is it simply that a unit is $100, $1000, $10000 and so forth depending on one's BR? Just want to make sure I understand and make sure that I judge my own confidence levels correctly.

Thanks FCP!

You bring up probably the most crucial point to any attempt to invest money for a profitable return which is money management.

I see no difference between the two terms , units vs. % of bankroll wagered. i understand why Thunder does his % thing as it allows him to adjust his amount bet according to his balance at any given time. The same can be done with units and it's a heck of a lot easier to track for most of us. The thing is, if you start with a hypothetical bankroll of 1K and your basic unit is $20 you would need to adjust your unit size as your bankroll increases or decreases over time. As an example, say your roll goes up to 1.5 K then you can increase your basic unit by another ten bucks. likewise if your roll goes down, you would need to decrease the value of a basic unit.

Start easy, I would recommend that your basic unit be somewhere between 2-4% of your BR. and if you really love a game go ahead and play 2 units for starters. Stay away from teasers, parlays and the other BS. Over time they will kill you. Do your own capping, trust your stuff and have some fun with a hobby that can be profitable as well as fun. Keep in mind though, 90% of the guys here lose money. They won't say it but it's true. They are the guys that post plays on every single football game that happens to be on TV and 10 games a day in hoops season. I break this rule twice a season, the 24 hour hoops marathon and bracketbuster weekend just to have a little fun. To win, you will need to stay sharply ahead of the curve. Use discipline and only wager on or against the teams that you really know.

I wish you well !
