I may be chastised for putting a link in here, but I'll try anyway.
Our military veterans often have a challenge finding new careers when they leave the service. That challenge is magnified even more when you are one of the Navy Special Warfare guys (SEALs).
I've been able to be a significant part in building a curriculum to develop and assist these fine men in their transition out of the Navy and to figure out what is next for themselves. Partnering with a major University in the San Diego area, we've developed and launched a 3 month long curriculum for these men to help them make the transition from warrior to the business world.
Think "Executive MBA course" meets "Life skills course".
We bring these guys in for 3 hour blocks, 2-3 times a week, for 3 months, with industry expert speakers lined up to talk about all sorts of things under the sun to help them figure out what they can do when they take the uniform off, and how to build that plan to do it.
Part of it, obviously, is finding themselves a career/job.
Here's where perhaps the power of the internet comes in - maybe you know someone hiring, maybe you work for a big company and can share it with your recruiting department or executive leadership.
It doesn't cost anything. This is simply, a chance to learn/interview/hire an elite military professional for a career.
Check the link, throw your name on there to keep informed of what guy is looking for what kind of job, and perhaps you can be the link in the chain that introduces them to their next opportunity.
Or, maybe you are some guru in an industry somewhere that wants to donate your time and fly yourself out to deliver a 3 hour course on some business strategy or life skill.
99% of these guys have a BS/BA degree already, and a large portion of them already have an MS/MBA as well. They are entirely more than just trigger pullers that paint their faces green each morning.
Click the link, check it out, some cool videos, some neat info, etc.
