It seems that you also look for the odd lines of the day. I was just wondering if this is true or not. I try to look for the odd line and move from there and see what I like after that. Just curious

Actually I start with the teams I know first and then look at the lines. A lot of East and West coast teams primarily.

I try to figure out why the lines are what they are, for as Buddy says: Vegas Doesn't Hand Out Gifts

For example, I've made good money this season playing St. Peter's on the road.

And last night St. Peter's looked good to me, I even posted as much in one of Raymond's threads.

But after further review in the light of the day, I think St. Peter's has given it up for the year, and Vegas is going to try to suck in as much money as possible with their 16-18 point line. They know that if they make the line over 20 they won't get anyone on Marist, but if they put it under 15 they won't get anyone on St. Peter's.

Does this make sense or am I making the mistake of trying to out-fox Vegas?

Well you are definetly more expierenced at handicapping than me seeing that i have only been doing this for a little over two years..but the last year seriously. But since joining madjacks I have learned that lines can be fishy so that the public jumps all over the line. When this occurs I like to go against the line (eventhough its scary at times) and have been very successful. I bet every game for the same unit unless I really like it like in the Md/duke game and then I increase my bet only slightly. It seems to be a good system so far but only a longer time will tell. thanks for answering! gl tonight

Do any of us really know what we're doing? LOL

If you're winning that's a good sign you're doing something right, especially this season.

Just so you know, Wake is the only play I've haven't actually put down yet. I'm going to wait until closer to gametime and hope to get a few more points. I wouldn't be surprised to see this line get to 12.

Whether or not you like Duke they are a scary team and can come roaring back any minute. I'd feel a lot better getting double digits especially if Howard is not 100%.
