Bowl Season: 3-0-0.
Off to a good start with the Bowls, have a few more winners than my above record, but could not post while out of town because I could not remember my password to log on!!! Smoke another, will ya TP! Anyway, onto tonight:
Texas ML -130. It should be nip and tuck tonight, but I like the balanced offense of Texas to prevail in this game when its all said and done. ASU surely will do damage over the top vs Texas, but I really think the Horns can contain ASU's ground attack and even at times get to the QB (ASU has allowed 51 sacks this year), rendering ASU a bit one-dimensional. That will prove costly in what will likely be a shootout. Texas brings more balance. McCoy and Carpenter will both perform well and match each other. The difference tonight is Jamal Charles, who I see putting forth an effort like we saw vs Nebraska and Okie State. ASU has been terribly slow starters all year, but a similar start could prove lethal against Texas, who is every bit as goos a second half team as the Sun Devils are. Look for Texas to open up an early lead, which they will take into halftime. ASU will come roaring out in the third, maybe even take a lead themselves. But, behind the power running of Charles, Texas will own the fourth quarter and ice the win.
Over 62.5.....hey, its the Holiday Bowl. Is not this an annual Over play. The winner of the last 12 Holiday Bowls has averaged 35 points, with only four times in that stretch has the victor scored less than 33. This game goes down to the wire, both teams wiill exchange scoring blows. Both teams ought to hit the 30 mark with Texas winning 35-31.
Good luck tonight to everyone.....hope we are as entertained as we were during last night's game!
