I've seen a few comments on 2 seperate threads so I thought it deserved it's own. I know Box and Franks are on Torres as well I am. Torres was beating the tar out of Holt in the 2nd go and if not for the headbutt, I'm convinced Holt would have been KO'd. He was 1 kd away from it being stopped. I think Holt is rather chinny and Torres can bang. I was expecting this to be a pic em and was pleasantly surprised to see Torres @+175. I have 1100 on it to win better than 1900. It should be a shoot out but I think Torres will get his vengeance. Good luck.

Indeed, I hopped on Torres +175 as soon as I saw it. The headbutt was a very frustrating turn-around for Torres backers the first time around. Hopefully the brutal KO didn't do any serious damage, and he can come back strong. I think the books got this one wrong, I'd expect the line to drop by fight time.

I believe this bout is in Holt's backyard, but it shouldn't matter, a Torres decision in any venue is an unlikely outcome.

Venue is of no concern here unless fans jump in the ring and bum rush Torres. Torres is probably motivated here beyond description. As I said, I was at Planet Hollywood that nite. You really did'nt see the headbutt unless you were sitting in the exact location to get a good view. But I sure as heck saw it after the fact. No reason Holt should be +200 here. Fine. The oddsmakers are playing mind-readers again. This should be another barn burner. Value here with Torres.

I dont know, I'm a little surpised that Holt was an even bigger favorit before the last fight even though he lost the first fight...or am I mistaken!?

Anyways, I wouldnt feel too confident about any outcome...Holt got lucky last time, but n j is right...how knows if the ko didnt do any serious damage to him...coming back from a ko is always tough...

I find it a nightmare to predict this one: both are chinny punchers.
Torres went for broke because he knew he wasn't going to win a dec in Holt's backyard, and he nearly pulled it off.

He might employ the same strategy again, but i suspect Holt will be prepared for it.

The odds are generous towards Torres, so playing him makes sense in a 50/ 50 fight.

Risky bet though.

"the bunker"
i have holt parred with the barrett/haye under......

i suspect that holt brings just a little more of a complete package to the table here....but he has some chin issues....

i was looking at the first fight in columbia and two cards were split 95-94 at the time of stoppage...the other had holt comfortably ahead 98-91....this was an hispanic judge in columbia(who, from what i`ve read, isn`t always accurate)...still,most reports had holt controlling the fight until late........

the reports i read had holt leading fairly comfortably despite being wobbled early...,having torres down earlier and hurt in another round...apparently torres bailed himself out with a big shot and a slippery ring surface from beer being hurled into the ring...

and although i know it`s a bad way to handicap a fight, holt manhandled mike arnaoutis while torres struggled a bit...

may wait until the props come out before deciding whether to hedge a bit...

might get a more favorable number with torres inside the distance...

i think without homecourt, torres may have a little trouble outpointing holt...

I am waiting closer to fight time and if the odds get closer I will be all over Holt.

He was beating the piss out of Ricardo in the first fight and some really shady shit went on.

In the second fight, there is no doubt that Ricardo was done in by the headbutt.
I also think the first knockdown of Holt was a flash knockdown and on the second knockdown Holt was hurt more by the illegal punch that Ricardo dummied him with when he was getting to his feet (that headbutt was Karma for you).

I have a feeling Torres punch resistance will be lower now.
That was a BRUTAL, BRUTAL KO. The kind that sticks with you.

Not sure who I'm taking here quite yet

looking forward to the fight big time though!

December 13th will be a huge day:

James-Toney-Tony Thompson
W. Klitschko-Hasim Rahman
Ricardo Torres-Kendall Holt

I think whoever wins this third fight wins it by KO. Two chinny guys who don't like each other.

Fight does not go the 12 round distance prop looks promising.

It was a COMPLETE headbutt that starched Torres in the 2nd fight. Very unfair. Did not look intentional, but certainly looked harder than the punch Holt threw.

However, headbutt or not, I agree with weepaul. It was vicious...and i worry about any fighter's psyche coming off a KO like that.

I had to look at this one again in SLOW motion. He got head butted and the right NEVER even landed. It was an uppercut/butt, a new type of ILLEGAL punch. Holt, it is true, got up quickly from the knockdowns, but they at least were caused by PUNCHES, not upper-butts!

torres is tough...and i give him credit for understanding after the first fight in his hometown, that he`d better get holt out of there if he expects to win...

unlike malignaggi, torres will come to win...which will make for an exciting boxer/puncher match-up....

the fun part is that the boxer can also hurt the puncher...

very anxious for this one...

who gets caught?...

Holt hit Torres with the head and staggered him. He throws a right hand straight after the headbutt and misses. He then throws another right that lands and obliterates Torres.

Well, I'm still looking for that "other" right hand. Look at it very closely on Tube. It looks like head-miss-canvas.

OK paulie, I see what you mean. However, that's like kicking a guy in the balls, then hitting him in the jaw. He was totally defensless due to the upperbutt, so I'd say it was still a bogus KO. He was 1/2 whacked after the butt. The next 2 shots just punctuated the whole fiasco. Paulie-you the man! So is weasel, ghost, box, zerwas, romi, nitey, hurricane eddie, punchy, tony m., mayorga fan, and his crowness. Yea, we bad!

Could not agree more Frankie.
If not for the upperbutt, Torres does not get cracked with that right hand.
