Several weeks away but I'm thinking -140 is a bit of a surprise and possibly a gift. Holt has been VERY impressive in his last 2 outings. He thoroughly dominated the South African Hlatsawayo (who beat a very determined Nate Campbell) and then easily beat Mighty Mike. The general thought appears to be that Holt can't take a good whack having been iced in 1 and then getting off the deck against Diaz. Alot of money went on Arnaotis w/that line of thinking and people lost. Is Torres riding on his showing w/Cotto? He arguably lost his fight w/Arnaotis (who Holt easily beat). Torres can definitely whack but he's not as versatile as Holt and perhaps a little one dimmensional. I think Torres is effective against someone who trades with him but Holt is too smart for that. It's early but I'm thinking Holt by easier win than what the lines are currently showing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm in complete agreement and have been close to putting some down. I don't like where the fight is...but you can't have everything. Holt has looked fantastic past few fights. Handspeed with pop.

A few quick thoughts off the top of my head...

Fight is in Columbia, I imagine the close rounds will go to Torres

Holt did handle Mighty Mike's power just fine, but it was obvious in the Torres-Arnaoutis fight that Torres was a much bigger puncher than Mike. And I thought Torres deserved to win that fight, he landed less punches, but he landed the better punches by far

I'm not saying Torres will win, Holt is the better fighter imo, but I'm not positive he can take Torres' best shot and who knows what the judges will come up with in Torres' backyard

A few thoughts on the venue...last oct I wagered an even 1k to win close to 5k on a guy named Leon Moore. He had ht, rch, age, pop advants plus an undefeated record taking on Irene Pacheco. By all accounts Pacheco took a beating, was nearly stopped and took a highly controversial dec. A few days later, the two judges that ruled for Pacheco were BANNED FOR LIFE from judging in Columbia. It certainly didn't get my deserved winnings for me but I'm a little more confident on the venue. A judge might think twice before making a corrupt decision there. I loaded up on Jhonny Gonzales a few mnths back and got a nice little payback.

Holt is now -160. I placed a max wager @5dimes on him @-140.

I was on Moore at +500 as well, didn't have as much on it as you but it still hurt a bit

You could be right, the logic definitly makes sence. I wasn't questioning your play, just offering up my concerns. Holt has looked very good lately

Hope you hit it

Great minds think alike.
I played Holt when i saw the line.
But i didnt even know where the fight takes place. I mean this unusual to have aghou title fight in columbia.
This makes the line more accurate.
Good information on the Moore fight.
I am not though sure if i follow your logic on the judges.
Maybe they are banned for life but at least they have a life. were these two judges locals ?
Anyway i take a look at the judges before the fight.
I stick with Holt.

i like holt.....holt`s the better all around guy....

but man,venue,imo,is very,very important.....

holt`s NEVER fought outside the states...who knows how he`ll handle it....and who knows how tough they`ll make things for him down there.....

on the hlatschwayo fight...he moved up to jr. welter to fight holt(who has actually fought at welterweight),the bigger man...he fought nate at lightweight...
