After looking at the lines at Sportsbook.com, don?t be surprised if the underdogs have another big weekend. Of the 16 scheduled games for Week 4, nine of the home teams will be receiving points. As any knowledgeable bettor will tell you, there is usually some extra value in home dogs. Through the first three weeks, home dogs are an impressive 8-4 ATS. With numbers like these, it is absolutely shocking that the betting public is backing each of the nine road favorites.

Surprisingly, a home dog that is getting very little action from the public is San Francisco (+2) as they play host to Seattle. With the early cash coming in, only 25% of the early bettors are on the 49ers. With plenty of hype behind them early on, this is a huge game for a 49ers squad that many believed would end the Seahawks three year stranglehold on the NFC West. After starting the season 2-0, the 49ers were lambasted last week by the Steelers 37-16. There are still plenty of questions whether San Francisco is good enough to take the West or are they still another year or two away. One thing is for certain, QB Alex Smith needs to play better if this team expects to win anything this season. So far he has completed just 51.8% of his passes and only has one touchdown. He will have a chance to jumpstart those numbers as he faces a Seattle defense that ranks 30th in the league in defending the pass. RB Frank Gore will also look to improve after a slow start. The NFC?s leading rusher from a year ago is averaging just 3.4 yards per carry and his highest single game total is 81 yards. In his two games against the Seahawks last season, Gore rushed for 212 and 144 yards respectively. Not surprisingly, the 49erss won both of those games outright, despite being underdogs. As a matter of fact, the Seahawks are just 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine games as a favorite and 0-6 ATS in their last six games versus the NFC West. The 49ers, on the other hand, are 7-2 ATS in their last nine against the NFC West and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as underdogs.

Whether you prefer to back the favorites or the underdogs, be sure to monitor Sportsbook.com?s ?Trends? section to see who the public is backing. By monitoring the ?Trends? section, you will be able to best predict a line change. And don?t forget to take advantage of Friday?s -105 juice
