Homer games of the week (YTD): 8-1

Anyone that doesn't know, these posts are written for fun. Even though I do play what I write, I am in no way trying to coax anyone to go with these opinions.

Georgia has let a couple of slips keep the SEC East race close. Their loss to Georgia State early in the season looked like a premonition of the entire season that was going to fulfill all of the predictions of the pre-season. But hey, this team without a player over 6'8" has impressed the foes throughout their schedule. A distracted team let a weaker Alabama team come in and squeek by in Athens. The Dawgs were then completely outplayed by the Cocks of USC. This, of course, is after beating Florida and Kentucky on the road.

On to tonight's game. Georgia travels to Starkville for the first of a tough four gam stretch (at Auburn, Florida, Kentucky). Auburn will only be tough because of it being on the road. Florida and Kentucky will be salivating for revenge. Georgia needs to focus on tonight's game to keep atop the SEC East. This is a peculiar spot for Georgia and its fans. We are usually the 4th best team in the East year in and year out. In the national rankings, though, we still trail both Florida and Kentucky.

Tonight's match-up should be one where the athletic ability of Georgia can take control. Catching a small number of points on the road in the SEC is not ever cupcake city. We are also facing the ever-present unranked team favored over ranked team scenario which I have been playing for a nubmer of years now. This year has proven no different with its solid number of covers. Harrick has proven himself to be one of the premiere coaches int he country with this young team. He will have his pups ready for battle tonight with everything that is on the line.

Taking all of this into play, and I am aware that I did not touch on game specifics for now, I will be playing a small amount on the SEC East leaders to win this game outright in a nail-biter. I do not have a moneyline on this game, so I will take the +3 and consider it a small gift. Let's just hope is not similar to the ones from Joker Smurf.

Good Luck--1 unit play on Georgia +3

Any updated information on this game will be appreciated. I will be snuggled against a radio since we never get TV.coverage.

I agree with you. Nice write up too.

I will play the one unit and see if the dogs can bark.
