Hoops, I know you're from NY and from what my brother-in law tells these 2 schools are right dn the road from each other(he plays soccer @ Dominican). I capped this gm and it appears that Fordam should win this gm easily!! Iona lost to URI, B-cookman. Fordam gave Depaul all they could handle and beat a decent Siena team that gave Oak St. a battle.

Any feedback would be grealty appreciated.

Thank You

Skulldog,
I am a Fordham grad and our most heated rivalry was always without Iona. Granted, we used to be in the same conference together (the old MAAC) but the proximity of the two schools (roughly 20 minutes away from each other) and the dislike for each other hasn't gone away. I know Bob Hill has one of his most talented teams this year at Fordham (forget that they graduated their starting backcourt, he wasn't fond of the way Robin played) but I wouldn't touch this game. I know that Iona got a little spoiled by the NCAA Tourney last year and this year have underachieved (a combination of selfish play and lack of defense). Coach Jeff Ruland looks like he is ready to explode on the Gaels so I expect Iona to be jacked tonight. I give the talent advantage to Fordham but would avoid going against a dangerous home dog (or pick em).
In my opinion, it's a stay-away from game (similar to Penn State-Clemson, is the home team really as bad as it looks).
Good luck.

Skulldog- I played some pickup games at Dominican a few years back..about a 30 minute drive from where I am. In regards to the game..pipeville already stated what I believe to be true..that is, Ruland will really have his guys focused tonight..rivarly game and they need their first win of the season. Their best player, Wilson, hasn't played well to start the season, but they have talent..him, Fields, and Jenkins are a nice trio. Close game either way, lean to Iona, but a pass for me. Good luck.

skulldog,
Don't kick yourself in the ass, the game hasn't even started. We?ll root you in. Hopefully, McMillan will tear it up on the boards and Smush Parker (you gotta love that type of NYC guard name) will wheel and deal.
The Rams def. have the talent to pull off the win and won't take the game lightly since it is a rivaly and they are off to a 1-2 start (albeit losses at South Florida and DePaul).
Good luck and go Rams.

Thanks for your kind words pipeville.

The kind of losing streak I've been on sucks the confidence right out of ya, so I question every bet I make.

I'll take the W(I need it)
