Hope for the Cardinals?

Speaking of teams for sale, there is some talk going around the league that the Cardinals might be. After seeing the Falcons sell for $545 million to Home Depot co-founder Arthur Blank, Cards owner Bill Bidwill is rumored to be considering a sale as well. The name being mentioned as a potential buyer is Jerry Colangelo, the majority owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks of MLB and the Phoenix Suns of the NBA.

Please, oh, please, let this be true. Some of you guys may THINK your team has the worst owners, but none of them can hold a candle to the Bidwells...they can you-know-what a wet dream.

PLEASE SELL BILL!!!!!!! The Cards have young talent and with Bidwell in charge you can expect nothing great. Heard any newss on possible interest outside of Colangelo?

Selling the team may be a good idea but, Colangeo is the last guy you want as an owner.

If he doesn't go broke from the Suns, just wait until the D-Backs try to make payroll again next year. (not to mention losing the Coyotes from his arena)

If the league or local bankers don't bail him out (again), he'll have some real problems.

From a fans point of view..I couldn't care less about Colangeo's MONEY problems. All I know is he got as a world series championship!!!!!!

He's also 1000 time better then the Bidwells!

Money problems or not, Jerry Colangelo has been able to put together successful partnerships in pro sports. He did not want to buy the Coyotes (he felt pro hockey would not be a money maker in Phoenix). The Bidwells are little fish in a big pond. Their management methods have alienated every potential Cardinals fan here, including the last big bungle, supporting the Tourism and Sports Authority's ill-fated plan to build the new stadium at the end of the runway at Sky Harbor Airport. We fans in Phoenix sit around and wonder how the Bidwells will screw up the team in the off season. SELL THE TEAM, BILL. TAKE THE MONEY AND GET THE HELL OUT OF PHOENIX.
