Hope I am not out of line asking this question, but why would anyone use an off-shore account to bet on horses when there are plenty of legal American based companies that take horse bets and pay full track odds on every bet? This game is tough to beat, believe me I know, and if someone caps your payoffs at almost any limit then you have zero chance of beating the horses, period.

Is there an advantage to using an off-shore account for horses that I am missing, if so please let me know as I put a decent amount of cash through the windows on a weekly basis.

i suppose its out of convenience.

if i have a sportsbook account offshore and i was interested in playing horses i would do so with the offshore since it would be the most convient way for me personally to do so for various tracks.

Youbet, Winticket and so forth will not accept accounts from many states. Offshore is the only option for some.

Youbet.com? does not accept accounts from residents of the following states: Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Residents of Alaska, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Missouri, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina may sign up for the service and access all product features (except wagering).
