Hotel in NY CITY

Hey guys, I looking to stay somewhere in the city in Sept for the Sox/Yankees series. Going to Jets/Pats game the next day. Want something in the city for the night life, but don't know where to stay. Looking for a 2-3 star hotel to just pass out in. Thanks P.S. How hard is it to get to the Medowlands from the city?

i haven't been back to ny in about 13 years, but i think you'll need to use a car to get to the meadowlands...unless maybe there are buses that go there...

Pretty sure I remember an ESPN Sports Zone right there in the middle of Manhattan.

Hotel wise.....inexpensive, no bells and whistles would be the Edison Hotel. Sheraton Hotel and Towers is another good one.

espn zone is in times square and is a good place to catch a game. if you want a good bar to go to, mcfaddens is a good place, i believe its like 42nd street and 2nd avenue.

Very nice Hotel I stayed in a great place in town.

Nice rooms and had full kitchen in Suites.

soho is in a great part of manhattan with lots of restaurants, bars & nightclubs...it's near grenwich village that has a lots of bars also. also not far from little italy & chinatown..

i like soho's location alot more than where the espn zone is..

I would suggest staying on the Jersey side of the Hudson. There is an Embassy Suites at the Meadowlands. You are only 15 -20 miles from Yankee Stadium on a EASY drive on 95 into the Bronx.. After the Yankee game is over, you just take the Triboro into Manhattan(you are very close and it's another EASY drive)

Plus at the Embassy Suites, you get a two hour free cocktail reception nightly and a free made to order breakfast each morning. The rate is under $200 nightly and if you are AAA you can discount that further. I'm assuming you are renting some wheels?

you want to stay away from the touristy parts of the city to stay cheap, i would try hotel pennsylvania maybe, sheraton might have cheap rooms.
there is a hotel off park avenue south called Hotel 31 that some friends stayed at when up for a bachelor party, i went over there, the rooms are small, good for 2 people but the price is right and the location isnt bad.
otherwise hotel.com would be good
its not hard to get to the meadowlands either, they have shuttles going from port authority all day long ecspecially on game days

Thanks Wood, the 31 looks good. They are sold out but will try other avenues to book it. $150 a night is right what I'm looking for. Everything is Booked Believe Me. Other option is near the Meadowlands. For Titty bars anyone been to PEC or HQ'ers both got good write ups. Thanks

ahh, for the gentlements clubs you want to check out larry flynts hustler club, i have been to all the good ones, scores included numerous times and the hustler club is the one that is going off pretty good now. be warned though, bring cash when you go to these in the city, they drain you and if you want them to , they'll do that too , for the right price.

uhm, aside from the my horrendous showing in fantasy baseball and my ex girlfriend breaking up with me and kicking me out of the house, its going wonderful
too bad i am going to miss cubelos draft on saturday, i dont know if you are in it this year or not but the cahoots draft is this saturday.
i am in florida right now but will be back up north around labor day for good.
