Even given that Atlanta is the home team, doesn't it seem like offering Clemens at + odds is strange? Can't remember, but wasn't he the ERA leader in the NL this year? If not then I know he was in the top 3. I was all set to pound the Stros with Clemens but was actually expecting to have to lay some wood. Always have to give a moment of pause whenever the line doesn't look right. Just seems like the books are begging for Stros money, and that makes me nervous. Then again, I don't bet a lot of bases so maybe I'm just way off base.

Thoughts appreciated!

Smoltz is ridiculous in the playoffs. I believe his playoff ERA is under 3 and his winning % is almost 80%.

Clemens has pitched great many time this yr and HOU still lost. The #'s : ATL is 22-11 when Smoltz starts & HOU is 15 -17 when Clemens starts. + Smoltz is 14-4 & Clemens is 10-7 LT in the post season. Think about all the post season games the Braves have lost and Smoltz is 14-4 ?

They used a narrow strike zone in Atl last night. Gave Hudson fits. They will use the same tonight. Smoltz handles the narrow zone better than Clemens. The problem will be if Smoltz can't go at least 7 Atl could be in trouble. The line is about right but the public probably won't think it is and could be influenced toward Hou.

THe money is on Smoltz 57/43 at sportsbook. the line has moved from 120 to 135. The Braves looked cooked to me. They could lose this one 1-0. It was tough just watching them yesterday.

Smoltz is the answer against the Stros. The only worry should be if his arm's okay. If he's not 50% or better I think the Braves will be going home early............again.

Thanks for the input guys. Knew Smoltz was good but didn't realize he had been that dominant in the postseason, because like bryanz said all I can think about is all the postseason games that the Braves have lost. Leaning more towards just laying off now, but I am a degenerate gambler and would like something to hold my interest whil I'm at work for the next 4 hours. lol
