I just got back from Las Vegas, Scotty, but Jack knows my opinion on whether to shut down the forum or not. Hopefully he doesn't shut it.

i was definitely going to shut it down but i'm still thinkiing about it because so many want to keep it going. no one person will influence me on the decision, including my own feelings about it (well maybe mine).

what disgusts me is the HATE that this subjest brings out in people. if it filters down into the other forums it will certainly be closed. after all, this is a gambling site and i can point you in the right direction to many political exclusive forums.

this is a subject that doesn't really belong here and i learned long ago that it shouldn't be discussed with friends or family either. WTF is the point? you're never going to change anybody's views on this subject and it causes so much resentment and hate.

i do think it's going to die down very shortly and has been dying down so my rush to close it has calmed. if i had not been away from the office all last week it would be gone now but i didn't have time to deal with it while i was away.

why do people have to be so hateful? doesn't make sense to me.

maybe i should implement the same rules we have in all the other forums because i can't stand the fighting.

Jack, I couldn't agree more with what you just wrote. I was all for moving all this political bs from the general forum. And now its time has come to fade away.

No one's mind was changed. It created only hostilities between forum members. It opened the door for a couple of nuts to come in and spew whatever venom they desired and detract what the regular members were trying to debate.

just a shame some people can't have a discussion, without escalating to hateful ranting. Everyone has their own thoughts etc. but foremost we are all Americans, and share the same towns and neighborhoods.

I know without question I was more for Kerry than Bush, although as I said months ago there were several true viable reasons to doubt Kerry s ability.

Bottom line is I know without any doubt guys like Raymond, Eric, garden, dtb, chan , ar182, etc. are quality people. Guys I'd be honored to watch any game or have a beer with. People have to learn not to let their emotions and ignorance get the better of them. People don't always agree, just doesn't happen, in any case its never worth losing Family or friends over.

When you have the country as polarized as it is now, there will never be a consensus in this or any other open forum. What I would like to see is the end of bashing, insulting, personal attacks, etc. There is no need for that. I have done so myself because I have a hard time taking it without dishing it out. That probably speaks to my maturity level, but I don't think is is unusual. Jack doesn't need all the BS that results from this, so why not give it a try without the personal attacks?

As all of you have noticed I have not posted here in quite along time and I simply stayed away because of this topic and forum. I'm as politcal as the next person but when dealing with some people here about this subject, it does get down to hatred and stupidity.

I was just fed up so I quit posting, no announcements just walked away. The things that are said by some in this forum are so ridiculous and stupid that it is no wonder it turns into a pissing match. And I was getting right into the middle of it and couldn't believe some of the things I said to others.

EXCEPT FOR eddie, ocelot, djv, oh I'm getting started again. LOL LOL

If this was my forum I would close it down, Jack.
