Houston-area girl, 15, attacked by 2 pit bulls

HOUSTON - A 15-year-old Houston-area girl has been hospitalized after being attacked by the family's two pit bulls and suffering more than 100 puncture wounds.

Kasandra Benavides was mauled Wednesday afternoon while giving the 8-month-old dogs some food and water.

KHOU-TV (http://bit.ly/12svtso ) reports Kasandra suffered leg injuries and required stitches but is expected to recover. A spokeswoman with the Memorial Hermann Health System says Kasandra was in fair condition Thursday. Further details on her injuries weren't released.

Juan Ruiz says his daughter helped raise the dogs and he says the animals never displayed any aggressiveness before the attack. Animal control officials have placed the two dogs in quarantine.

Ruiz says he doesn't want the dogs back at the family's home in northeast Harris County.

Shit isn't going to stop happening and neither you nor I know the entire story of what went down in that household or that classroom. If you think that this is the ONLY dog attack that happened that day than you are being naive. This just speaks more to my point that media always reports it when it has to do with furthering their agenda, much like you just did. I am quite sure you didn't do any research into all the dog attacks that happened, because that wasn't helping your point. You hear about this, you heard Pitt Bull, and your first thought is to post it as an Aha! moment. Selective activism at it's finest, just like the media has been doing since it became popular to do so. I fail to see how anyone can explain that an evolutionary mutation of personality suddenly happened and became apparent in our country's oldest breed just in the last twenty years.
