Outright plays (total stake per play: 1pt)

Padraig Harrington to win 16/1 e.w. @ BetInternet [6 places]
It's the week before the Masters and this is a very weak field, but Pod is not one to use these events as merely warm-ups, no matter how much the course has been designed to reflect the setup for next week's Major. In 2004, for example, he finished 4th the week before the Masters and 2nd the week before the U.S. Open. Though not entirely applicable to this week, his last PGA Tour victory (2005 Barclays Classic) was the week after the U.S. Open. In short, he is too good for these odds. In the last six months, he has played in 14 Tour events and finished in the top-20 in 12 of them, including two victories. He is the only player in this field who ranks in the top-10 in Scoring Average on the PGA Tour and having gained course experience last year, he represents far better value than others at the head of this poor field, such as the 16/1 available on K.J. Choi.

Steve Stricker to win 33/1 e.w. @ BetInternet [6 places]
A position inside the top-25 in Scoring Average on the PGA Tour gives Stricker a lofty credential in this field, as does a return of two top-5 finishes from six strokeplay events this year. Both of those were achieved on Bermuda greens and so was his top-3 finish in this event last year when his 68-66 finish was the best weekend score by anyone in the field. It all points to a decent chance of another top-5 finish this week.

Anthony Kim to win 80/1 e.w. @ BetInternet [6 places]
Taking a chance on Kim, who has not played this course previously, but showed no problems when making his debut in Texas at the Texas Open last year and finishing 2nd. And he has been in very good form over the last month as well, finishing 9th in the Nissan Open, 13th after three rounds of the Honda Classic and finishing 14th at the PODS Championship. And if this course is successfully set up along the lines of Augusta National, his big-hitting (4th in driving distance on the PGA Tour) should help his cause.

Struggling this week with who to fade. Hard to find much info, since last week was an off week, . Also factor in theyve only played at this course 2 years, plus they are making changes to the course. It makes it difficult to cap. :com:
The whole schedule change, and all of these limited fields have made this year pretty difficult. I like Lucas Glover a lot this week, also like Tim Clark and Angel Cabrera but well see. One guy who i dont like is westwood. Anyone got any info for this week?

Here is the email i sent my friend..
Hey man
Havent heard from you in a while, Im going big this week.
Olazabel over Weekly -110. This fits into all the categories. They are making the course similar to augusta, and you know how ollie plays there. This is only the second year here at this course but olly played it 2 years ago and finished 3rd ( DNP last year). Olazabel shot 69 - 80 - 72 - 72 last week which is solid besides the 80 obviously. The week before he missed the cut shooting 75 - 69, Prior to that he had made 4 cuts and had 2 top 15's. Last year the 2 weeks before the masters he went 7th then second,he went 9th 6th second. I think Weekly played well in florida becuz it was his home state. Check his results out of florida..Boo is also 114th in scrambling

Anyway just wanted to give you a heads up

Good luck guys.. i need this one to hit, or i might be sleeping on LostInamericas sofa :mj07:

Love the Kanada play here - plenty of form in Texas having won N'Wide champship last year there - in fact moved to Houston few years ago and seems to have adopted it as his home state. Add to that some solid outings on pgatour and you have a very taste 150 shot

Choi(-120) over Appleby (Tournament)

I have stuff I'm looking for going in, and I generally know something I like when I find it, but I can't say the chic to suspect members of my crew for this week radiate with such qualities.

The most interesting nugget I tripped over during the week was I believe I heard that this course was the easiest on tour last year (i.e., highest percentage) for holing putts from 10 feet and in.

The most interesting read I came upon this week:

wow.. he missed birdies on the first 3 out of 4 holes inside of 10 feet and also had one 3 putt. Then doubles a par 5. He just hit it in the drink. Gonna need a lot of help from Boo.. or a miraculous run :com:
BTW what in the world is goin on with westwood and leonard :nono:

Ginn Championship

- - No need for a new thread.

No question that 2006 marked the start of a very poor overall performance with my wagers on the Champions Tour - Kite was the only winner I picked last season - and the process started off no better this season. Also a Catch-22 situation in which having few wagers in the hunt has meant less interest in paying attention to the proceedings, and full circle I go. And it doesn't help that SIA is my only true out for the Champions Tour (1/4 for 1-2-3-4; no updated odds for Saturday and Sunday).

Anyway, something new needed to be tried . . . Detecting and/or speculating that for many the peaks and valleys of advancing years are much more pronounced and of fairly quick duration, I've concentrated on prices of outsiders, with a view to finding opportunities for a burst of form (sometimes on just a hunch, preferably with some shred of evidence). Well, none of the plays have yet paid, but they have been so much better than the crap I had been throwing up that I'm working forward with that basic approach for now - trying to build an intuitive feel for a counterintuitive approach - but I won't totally abandon plays that look right under my more established approaches when it seems appropriate.

Craig Stadler(50/1)(1/4 for 1-2-3-4) e.w.

Lonnie Nielsen(125/1)(1/4 for 1-2-3-4) e.w

- - The emphasis on true chipping is what worries me most about both these players in this spot.

:spotting: It cashes.. But as far as my other plays go, this is the worst % Ive hit at in a single week the past 2 years  Who knows I still have a shot with Kim, Padraig and Johnson. Just dissapointed with Karlssons 80 today, and the way ogilve went like 5 over in a 3 hole span.. :nono:

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but DJ Trahan is actually starting to come around. I mean he missed his first 6 cuts, but hes made his last 3.
So is Sean O Hair and Jason Gore. Anyway what a shootout today, I watched most of the coverage and Johnson could easily have been 10 under thru 13 EASILY. Padraig is playin well and just gettin ran over by Scott.
TOm will be interesting, there will be a lot of people who wont be sleeping easily tonight. Look for a lot of the leaders to choke :SIB

Wow just following my boy from my alma mater..
Play by Play for the Par 5, 590 yards 13th Hole
