Not sure exactly what it would involve but does it not make sense to have some of the guru's all of us follow in here show us how they do it(if they have the time).Maybe 1 night a week for a bit on each of the sports. Maybe just a couple of systems using stats that are pretty common of how you weigh 1 stat against another would suffice. It would definetly keep people in the game longer and make them more self sufficient thus having more educated picks, thus strengthening the board and brining more people and info in. I know I lurk and rarely post because the last thing I want is someone following my guess(and that's all it is) based on the obvious reasons I use, like the team is due or the revenge factor!!
I by no means am a big time gambler but would sure like to be more knowledgable as to why I should take a particular team instead of always coattailing guys like NDHORNS, DJV, HELLAH, KICKSERV AND OTHERS. I think it would also show this as more of a hobby.Especially for those who jump in here expecting to cash big time and then get crushed.
Just a thought I thought I would throw out there.
Thanks.

Hey Vinny:)

first off..........I'm not a guru.........wish I was.....but sorry I'm not:p (Although some on here think they are!). Anyway....here are some quick hints:

(and remember these are just my opinions.....)

as ya know my sports are hockey and tennis...........and that leads me to my first point.........treat each sport a little bit differently.......don't try to lump every sport together. Here's what I mean...........in hockey if ya look at head to head matchups it means a little bit more to me then it does in tennis. For example if the Leafs and the Sabres are 2-2 head to head for the season that means a little bit more then if say Sampras and Henman are 2-2 head to head for the season.........why?? Because in tennis you play indoors, outdoors, on grass, on clay, etc....etc...etc. In hockey ya always play on the same surface and in one of two arenas............in tennis Sampras could have played all those matches in Henmans hometown or in Sweden or Brazil or whatever............my point being is that something as simple as "head to head" can mean something very different in each particular sport:)

other little hints:

I find in the NHL that teams that score 0-1 goals three games in a row......explode in their 4th game......good when looking at over/under

in tennis if a guy gets through the qualifying draw bet on him to win his first match...........he's already familiar with the surroundings and has some matches "under his belt".....plus the other guy could have just got off a plane and your qualifier could have been there for 4 or 5 days..........can't tell ya how many times I saw this when I was playing......

in NHL teams playing last game of a long road trip tend to lose more often then they win......

in Tennis.........play the guy that's hot........but if he just won the tourney the week before.......stay away from him in his first round match.....LETDOWN!

hope some more guys come on here and give their hints and thoughts.......there are guys on here that know way more then I do :p

Good luck :D
