How do players perform after winning individual awards?

Does Steph have a huge night after winning MVP? What is the value of seeking out props on individual award winners the first game after they receive the award? Seems like guys tend to step up big, but I have no data to back that up. I seem to remember both LeBron and Jordan going off a few times after winning the MVP award. Maybe somebody has a better memory on this or the time to dig up the history on this. I've done some research below, but don't have time for more at the moment.

Recent history:
2015
4/20 - Lou Williams wins 6th man of the year.
4/21 - Williams goes for 20pts, 1reb, 1ast & 3stl in a loss against the Wizards

4/23 - Kawhi Leonard is announced Defensive Player of the Year
4/24 - Leonard goes off for 32pts, 4reb, 1ast, 3stl, 2blk going 3-5 from 3pt in a win vs LAC

2014
5/6 - Kevin Durant is announce MVP
5/7 - Durant goes for 32pts, 12rebs, 9ast, 2stl on 3-9 from 3pt in a W vs LAC

2013
5/4 - League sources confirm rumors that Lebron James will win the 2012-2013 MVP award
5/6 - James officially announced as MVP and goes for 24pts, 8reb, 7ast, 1blk, 2stl in a fairly typical Lebron game where with Heat lose to the Bulls at home 86-93 in Game 1 of the Conference Finals.

So far, I don't see many shops with props up on Curry yet, but I did find these...
Over/Under Pts+Asts 34.5
Over/Under 3pts 3.5 (-165/+130) and 4.5 (+130/-165)

Most books should have player props up within a few hours. I am wondering if anybody has a recent history or has bet on/against any Curry prop in the playoffs this year so we can get an idea as to whether his over/under numbers are a little inflated tonight.

I think this is an interesting proposition that has money-making potential and would welcome discussion and insight from other members.

I went ahead and grabbed a little Curry OVER 26.5 (-110) pts for a regular-sized play. Just gonna see what happens. Curious to see what others have to say on this. I'm not really interested in the assist, rebound or FT props as those tend to fluctuate a little more from game to game. The over on 3.5 three pointers is interesting as he's averaged 5 per game in the playoffs and over 4 per game in the last three months of the regular season.

Here's how his numbers look for the postseason. Seems like he might be due to bounce back from a somewhat mediocre game his last time out

Great thought process and info Deezy. I'll definitely be looking into these tonight. Probably won't have time for a good write-up but will let you know if I play anything. :toast:

Taking both the Curry over (26.5) and three-pointers over (4.5) at +125. Sorry for the last second post. Wish me luck.
