First off before I cut to the chase let me tell you the kind of guy I am.
Several weeks before Thanksgiving my wife and I went out to lunch at Coco's which is a restaurant like Denny's. Nothing special but predictable food, quick and no fuss. We sat in the back in a quiet corner. I had been working pretty hard and just wanted some peace and quiet. I had the USA Today, Sports Illustrated, and Sporting News. Kathy had Reader's Digest and the latest copy of Martha.
We take a two hour lunch and I just wanted to eat my burger, drink my coke and read a bit before getting back to the grind at 2:00 PM.. Before ya'll start thinking oh........he takes a two hour lunch.. Well, we work 9-12 and 2-6 and often till 7 or 7:30. So the two hours is not big deal.
After we ordered I watched our waitress limp off to get our drinks. I put my paper down and started watching her more closely. She looked really beat. Tired, maybe depressed. I dunno. Just beat. Maybe in pain.
Back to my reading. As tired as the waitress seemed, she was right there when we needed her. More coffee for Kathy, cheerful when she approached the table and in general the service was way above the usual service we get at other restaurants.
The check was presented. Kathy was finishing her article in Reader's Digest, she excused herself to run to the lady's room and I went to pay the check. Our waitress was the cashier...
I paid the lunch tab of just under 20 dollars and after she gave me my change I said Miss... excuse me as she was starting to walk away.. I reached in my wallet and handed her a twenty dollar bill as a tip for our lunch.
She was shocked and objected. I said.. PLEASE DON'T say a word! My wife will kill me! Then I smiled at her.. looked right in her eyes and said.. I just wanted to brighten your day!
Later in the afternoon I called the restaurant, asked to speak to the manager and told her what a great waitress the lady was. The manager said. I know .. she trains other servers! I just said.. OH.. well.. I enjoyed her service and just wanted to be sure that YOU knew how good she was!

My afternoon office girl has really pitched in to help me while Kathy is in the hospital agreeing to handle my phone calls in the morning (by forwarding calls to a cell phone) and doing other additional duties which she has just done on her own initiative at times. A few weeks ago I just handed her a 50 dollar bill out of the blue and said.. I really appreciate the special things you have done without even having to be asked. You have been a great help to me. Thank you.

A patient was in for treatment a few days before Christmas and happened to tell me that her son's BIG Christmas present had just been stolen. She and her husband had bought him a new bicycle. Maybe they gave it to him early.. I can't remember. But it had been chained outside their apartment and it had been stolen.
While she was on therapy, face down on a table, I went to talk to Kathy who was out of the hospital for a few weeks. I asked do you have a hundred? Kathy always has a hundred or two on her and I always have 5 or 6 dollars.. NO MATTER WHAT lol
So.. I got a hundred dollar bill.. came back in the room.. patient still on therapy. I said.. you doing alright, Irine? She said..yes Doc. Give me your right hand.. she raises it towars me a little bit.. I put the bill in her hand and said.. there ya go.. let's try to save your son's Christmas. No.. I didn't give her enough to buy the bike.. but I thought ( and I was right) that if I gave her some money maybe other relatives might pitch in too.
The patient said.. ahhhhhhhhhh Doc.. you don't have to do that!
I said.. it won't replace the bike but it's bound to help some. You've been a good patient and it will at least go a little bit towards replacing the bike. Well... the boy got his bike for Christmas...thanks to me and others.

A few days before Christmas I slipped Chrissy, the afternoon offic e girl a hundred dollar bill and said Merry Christmas. And just before Dr. Jacobson left for Christmas I gave him a hundred dollar bill as well.. He's Jewish so I said Happy Hanukka sp? Happy Holidays. Enjoy some time off!
Ok.. I sometimes give money away with no expectation of ever seeing anything in return. Call me crazy. Call me nuts. I really dont' care.
How important is this site to you? Have you made at least 100 dollars by following plays here in the last 3 months? Have you gotten a good belly laugh or just enjoyed some of the crazy chit that goes on here?
Do you check in once in awhile hoping to find another funny posted by Gatorbait, Felonious Monk, or Anders..and others?
Do you come here at least 3 times a week? I know I'm on here several times a day almost every day of the week. And have been for about a year.
If the answer to any of the above is yes.. then take out a 10 dollar bill and mail it to:

Don't be a cheapass. If I am not mistaken Jack has been through hell the past several weeks. Let's do something to try to cheer him up. I don't know if he needs the money or not. I don't know if he's rolling in the dough or broke on his ass. I really don't know. I also don't know the financial situation of this site. Don't know if it makes money or just barely scrapes along.
Send more send less. Send cash, send a check. I don't care. If you write a check make it to him personally NOT the corporation!
I'm sending 10 dollars because this is meant as a token gesture. If I can't find a 10 I'll send a 20.
Send a card, write a letter, address an envelope and slip the 10 in there wrapped in a piece of typing paper.. don't just put the bill in bare.. cause it might get stolen. Do what you want.
There has been so much STOOPID BULLSHIT on this board the past two weeks! And just WHO do you think you hurt the most?
Well.. Jack of course. This is his baby. And it was threatened...... and well.. now things are getting back to normal again.
Let's express our appreciation for this fine board, the friends we've made and the money that we've made.
By the way.. I bet less than 50 people respond with a check and I bet there's less than 15 replies to this thread.
Thanks for reading
Sincerely
