OK, we have the biggest natural disaster essentially in our history to deal with, and you want to waste time bashing the French? You started a thread soley for the purpose of bashing the French at a point when I doubt the average person there even had a clue of the magnitude of what has happened - let alone start putting together relief funds for it.

How much did you give to European flood victims last year, Dr, Freeze? ...And if you did give, was it within 48 hours of the inital storm?

Dude - of course. I know we've given tremendously around the world.

I would be willing to wager that other 1st World WESTERN nations have been proportionate in their relief as well. And IT TAKES TIME - As we are seeing so painfully unfold - we barely even know what to do ourselves right now.

I'm not offended at ceaseless France-bashing. I guess I just see it as tired.

because the french bitched at us at about this time

some of you denser folks are unable to see how absurdity is demonstrated by absurdity

if they are going to use an outrageous level to judge us, then its funny how the same level can be applied to them

obviously no one should be complaining about who and who hasn't given at this time. i am personally not in a position to provide immediate help as some are including some of my family but and you would be amazed at how the citizenry has stepped up to the place and how fast the citizenry has been able to respond as opposed to the governmnet bureaucratic mess that we are seeing

we have outstanding fellow countrymen and America is an outstanding country...though the worst is being portrayed on TV up to the minute, there are literally millions of civilians stepping up to the plate and thousands of those going beyond the call of any duty right now...some even being shot at by pondscum with AKA-47's going to great lengths in their selfless and tireless efforts

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I guess that's why I didn't understand the initial wasting of any energy at all even thinking about France.

I just saw on news, 10 minutes ago over 20 countries have offered cash, food, generators blankets and other necessities. Our government until this point has refused any assistance or aid. Must it be because we are doing such a banner job thus far.

Yes, bashing the French(no matter their many faults) is a dumb first reaction. I just heard on Fox that 20 countries have pledged funds/help/etc.. I don't know who or what and I guess time will tell.

FVCK THE FRENCH!

MOFO's can't even take an American winning their stupid bike race.

I take showers as often as I can knowing I'm offending a French citizen somewhere in the world. :gf:

Hopefully the right wing of the German citizenship gets their act together and takes over France for kicks. (without the whole death camp thing)

It's a sunny day here. No better time to bash the fvucking frenchies in my world

yeah....why bash the french when we can make political points bashing the administration...on the heels of possibly the worst natural disaster this country`s seen in 100 years....

something the likes of which this country has never experienced....

i keep hearing that this wasn`t a surprise....they knew it was possible...they knew it was possible through the carter administration, the ford administration, the reagan administration, the clinton administration and both bush administrations...

so??...where was the local government?...state and city?...

it`s also possible that a terrorist could smuggle a suitcase bomb into a major city...yet,we have a joke of an immigration policy(thanks president bush)....people still get attitudes when their bags are checked or bitch about the patriot act...

a major earthquake could devastate the west coast....

brush fires can devastate the west coast..

you could throw billions at these potential disasters....and it still may not prevent catastrophe.....

engineers are saying that all the preventitive measures discussed may not have averted this disaster...from what i`m reading, one of the newest levee`s was the first to be breached...

this was a storm for the ages...this stuff happens a few times every decade or so....it`s an unfortunate part of our existence...

Speaking of the Red Cross, my understanding is the Salvation Army is a better charity group.
As for French bashing. My last name is English but I have alot of French blood in me. I would protest this constant humiliation but I decided in the end just to give up.

sadly, i have a good lot of french blood in me myself

Red Cross has in the past financed lawyers for looters who were prosecuted for stealing nonessential goods and services

Red Cross pays many of its execs MILLIONS of dollars....inexcusable for any charitable organization IMO

Red Cross runs blood banks which are the biggest scams in the country

This organization is a joke and I have to wonder why no one will touch it in the media

How specific do you want it?

It's International Econmic Aid per year on a GDP basis.

I'm sure there are ways to find out exactly where each cent goes, but I'll leave that up to you if you're that interested. ;)
