Vickie Johnson snapped a tie with two free throws with 24 seconds remaining to lift the Liberty to their fourth straight win, a 72-66 triumph over the slumping Mystics.
A basket by Charlotte Smith-Taylor gave Washington a 54-46 lead before Christon scored nine points in a 14-4 run. Her 3-pointer gave New York a 60-58 edge with 4:53 to go.
Johnson's free throws gave the Liberty the lead for good. Laurie Koehn missed badly on a 3-pointer that was rebounded by Cathrine Kraayeveld, who sank two more foul shots with 12 seconds to play. Hammon sealed it with two foul shots.
