How often do 'favorites' not win tournaments?

In this in your odds collection Ian?

The US/Carribean type places/LVSC or whoever responsible for that seem to do 30 golfers quite often and a field bet, which I guess is an interesting other option - one lot I looked at was 170% or so. Price of 5.00 or so?

So, how often does a tournament winner come from out of the top 30? Which is about what they seem to have - given the market percentage is so high the extra % has to come from somewhere, so is it 'all the rags and bolters' together that are being shaved to 200 when they should be 2000, or some come off the favorites as well?

Guess I could trawl back through that correctodds stuff for a rough idea, but any gurus have a number lying around, out of interest?

I have no idea off the top of my head. I do have the info, but it would take some digging to find it.

BTW, I haven't done the numbers, but aren't futures markets around a 170% market as you say? They have a new golf/tennis guy @ VIP Sports and he's claiming to be offering 129% markets for the PGA Tour. Big improvement on the rest of the industry if the above number is right. Hopefully he'll get the desired waves throught the US marketplace

If you have 150 guys, I think lots of them are 200% when you add on all the crappos at the end

As far as 'futures' markets in general, golf is different, you might get AFL at 120% for example at some places - American ones in general are pretty horrendous.

but Sportodds US tournament - seems to be less players, so could be why a bit lower, is 186
