Just read Phillips pulled the upset in a disputed dec. Whew...almost put down the heat on spimnks but opted for much better odds on the over @-330. I lost 1 hund on spinks by dec but made 5 hund on the over. I'll take that any day.

Who saw that coming?

Spinks gets robbed in his hometown against a 38-year-old gatekeeper. It wasn't out of the question that King wanted to dump an unprofitable belt-holder, but to give it to Phillips of all people? as if he's a box-office superstar? Looks like King milked Spinks for one last gate and tossed him aside like yesterday's garbage. That was a dagger.

I also lost Alexander ITD which looked like a lock after 6, but the other guy seemed to throw about 40 total punches in the last 5 rounds and do absolutely nothing but dance.

This night could not have possibly gone worse.

Anyway, congrats to those who played the over, I was a cheapskate and played Spinks decision. Shame on me.

It's bread and butter man. I could envision Spinks getting drilled and possibly stopped but not against the 38 yr old version of Phillips. Spinks has been an absolute gold mine for me even though I deplore the style. I got him @+400 against Mayo. I wagered him over Zab in the 1st go and believe it or not I wagered Zab inside the dst in the 2nd fight. I know it's heresay several yrs after the fact but that's the truth. I did lose a little dough when he fought JT. I wagered JT inside. Anywhos, I actually ended up losing 206.00 on spinks by dec tonight but the over netted me a nice profit on the night not to mention I had a decnt amount on Alexander...I have a pretty good week in the making as long as the Cuban gets by Braite.

"the bunker"
i thought verno was a reasonably live dog and a dangerous "go against" when this was brought up awhile back...i only had verno at +400,but,i`ll take that.....had the over in some pars figuring that was the real solid play in the fight...

offf to a flying start this week...old verno`s still a little dangerous...surprised he eeked out a decision in st louis....he must`ve fought a good fight...

here`s what i said...

"i know everyone will think i`m crazy, but,i don`t necessarily think spinks is a lock at over -500 plus vs old verno phillips at 154.....

he`ll be slick, but,if phillips has anything left,he throws lots of punches from all angles and will press the issue....unlike say the russian, who was way to patient with spinks...

granted,it`s in missou...but,spinks just doesn`t have the oomph, especially at 154....and we know he can be hurt... phillips is way quicker and a bit more cagey than mayorga, who telegraphs his shots...

busy, stronger guys like ouma and quartey tend to wear down phillips...that shouldn`t happen here...and this is a 12-er....

i remember phillips seriously hurting the strong chinned quartey and he just stopped teddy reid(granted, reid`s shot).....

i still have some respect for phillips...he`s sneaky dangerous"....

sorry for crowing...i don`t hit 4-1`ers very often...
