How To Detect And Avoid Bedbugs In Hotels

man,what a f-cking nightmare that must be..disgusting......so glad I don`t travel much anymore....

I do that EVERY TIME we go to a hotel. We have a friend who's a pilot and he contracted them from a hotel he stayed in and he said it took months to get them out of their house. He and his wife were all bit up. (((shudder)))
I said it in another thread but it is a living nightmare. We got them 6 years ago when we moved into our new home. We still have no clue where they came from. It started with my daughter waking us up in the middle of the night saying that she was itching really badly and she had some little bumps. We thought it was from mosquitoes so we kind of brushed it off. Then it kept happening and it was always her waking up in the middle of the night. My wife realized it might be bed bugs and ended up searching my daughters room and found one crawling under a baseboard. ARGHHHHH
For at least three months we slept with the lights on because my wife was so freaked out. In total it probably cost me around 3k to get rid of them. I don't care as much about the money as I do just the total feeling of disgust you have living in your own home. I have a very nice house but it felt like a dump after that.
So that was 6 years ago last month but whenever someone is itching my wife gets anal and spends hours looking around. We also keep DE(diatomaceous earth) sprinkled under our baseboards at all times now. You can't see it but it will kill bed bugs or any other type of bug that has a shell like that. I don't think we'll ever get them again(fingers crossed) but that will help them from spreading if we ever did. It was that bad that I do things quarterly so I don't have to worry.
