New rules to be implemented (e

nforced) with more emphasis this year ...... cutting out hand checking, less charging/blocking calls .......... if you get your head and shoulders past the defense and there is contact it's a foul on the defense automatically ............. this is supposed to increase scoring which I think it will after everyone gets acclimated ...... yet some games may have 80 free throws shot .............. and

The Big Ten will be forced to actually play basketball, especially the Spartans !!!

If the officials do not vary much from one conference to the next...... it will be good for the game !

Definitely points towards scoring going up. It will be interesting how refs call the games now. I still think certain conferences (i.e. Big Ten) will have physical slow down games despite this. As much as it will be difficult for teams to change their style of play, it will be difficult for the refs that typically do their games to change the way they call games completely as well.

A team that it will affect I believe is Pitt. ACC is more of a scoring league, so their change to that conference and coupled with the rules change could really affect them considering the style they play.

My point exactly Mr. Poon ............... SEC team visiting a BIG TEN team ....... Advantage to home by default with officials not calling the SAME game ...... ALL officials will need to be graded on calling the game with the "EMPHASIS" as specified in order not to have the proverbial "cluster _uck" that will inevitably happen

I guess all the players hitting the floor with a thump and heard a mile away made some rule changes for NCAA Mens? WOW!! Half of these refs have no fookin clue anyhow how to call a game, let alone watch for hand checking, etc., they are always out of position and with 3 of these yahoos on the floor at the same time, they never get the calls right until the TV cam shows them they goofed!!

I hope it employs more scoring because all the unders last year in the NCAA and lackluster scoring games made many viewers turn to other sports on tv or regular broadcasting events, like, Restaurant Impossible or Modern Family.

Something has to give this year because many games last year got very low ratings in the NCAA, even with the strike shortened NHL season, more people viewed in on hockey over the NCAA until the March Madness started. NCAA doesn't want that and with the amount of revenue in NCAA hoops, the NCAA can't afford to have low scoring, boring, bad reffed games any day of the friggin week!!

Anyone remember last year when Northern Ill scored like 6 pts in the 1st half?

COME ON MAN!!

Let the games begin!!!

...front-court depth of teams could be tested, especially with new rules eliminating the hand check expected to result in foul-filled games throughout college basketball early in the season.
