Good luck with them all, Anders.

I'm like you, waiting for the sleepless nights to come...Already have the doona on the couch :D

Just one question on those bets, where did you find the Inzy over Ganguly, runs match bet?

Would really like to get on that one.

Thanks.

Nice start from Mr Lara :D

And the Windies win has made NZ's task even harder :( :D

Today's plays (couldn't post day 1 plays so won't count in record here)

New Zealand v Sri Lanka:

Cairns over Astle (most runs) +120

De Silva over Jayawardene (most runs) +100

Sangakkara 38 pts and over (player performance) -120

All for one unit at bet365.com

A good day two for the wagers.

The match-up/player performance bets went 3-0 as De Silva (12) outscored Jayawardene (1), Cairns (32) outscored Astle (0) and Sangakkara notched 58 points to go over his set tally of 38.

So tournament to date record is:

3-0 +3.20 units

The NZ defeat, while not a great result from a patriotic point of view, was just what I sought as a bettor with NZ already on the verge of elimination if they don't go to Kenya.

Add in Zimbabwe's expected win over Namibia, 32 runs to Cairns and Lara's fine start and we have hit the ground running.

I have just one wager for the Australia v Pakistan game:

Play Matthew Hayden 42 points and under -120 x 1 unit (bet365.com)

Anders:

I'm sure you think the same thing about American sports. But, dude, you have some weird sports Down Under. I'm watching the Australian Rules Football, and half the guys have bandages wrapped around their heads holding their skulls together in one piece. Best I can tell, it has the violent collisions of American football sans the armor.

And cricket? Guys are catching line drives barehanded. The batters are dressed up like hockey goalies. Then I see a guy hit a home run backwards, what would be the equivalent of fouling a pitch off behind home plate.

I don't think I'm gonna even try to figure this stuff out for a while. All I know is that you keep winning bets and pushing your wheelbarrow of cash away from the cashier on a nightly basis. Nice pickin, mate.

Nah, I just think all u Yankees are pussies!! :D :p

Have always felt that us Down Under boys like the physical stuff without too much padding getting in the way....having said that, have talked to a few guys who play both NFL (our horrendously unskilled version) and rugby and say they get hit harder in NFL and need the pads and helmets...

Thanks for the kind words - 4-0, I'm a helluva handicapper ...LMFAOROTF ;) :D

Man, this tournament sure has hit the headlines ...

off to hit the stats for tonight's mismatches...

hope all is well chucky, miss chatting on the MSN - damn work firewall

Last night: 0-2 -1.00 units

Tourny to date: 4-2 +3.20 units

No go with 2 longshots, but the futures bets certainly weren't harmed as Srinath took 4 wickets and Sehwag and Ganguly both failed with the bat.... :)

Back in a bit with tonite's plays...

Hey, Anders......

Hey, Anders......

..Nice start to the WC. ;)

Just after your opinion on a runs match-bet.............

Chanderpaul over McMillan (1.85)

Besides having a 10 run better career average, McMillan is in terrible form.

Wondering if you think he'll be turning the corner any time soon?

Cheers mate

Mr C - just got back to the office, been at cricket most of the day, ND v Otago....better watch out for when we get Ian Butler back fit in the NZ side, this boy is real sharp with a nasty short ball...he and Bond will be a great pace spearhead if they stay in one piece...

Guess u may have seen by now that Macca has been dropped - o/wise would have been worth a play, I think Chanderpaul, although batting further down than Macca had he played (no 3), he will get a reasonable bat...

I think NZ will win tonite, I think the lower/slower pitch will suit their seamers like Adams, Styris, Harris and Vettori's spin and NZ will really look to go after the 20 overs the Windies try and get thru with spin and part-timers. Expect a few tricks from NZ too, don't be too shocked to see Vettori open the batting  (I wrote a column a month ago saying he should, they may have read it ;) :D ) and Adams/Cairns/Styris/Oram given carte blanche to go after Hooper, Gayle etc at the bowling crease.

GL mate

O/nite: 2-4 -2.50 units
Tourny to date: 6-6 +0.70 units

Not a great day for the punts....a catch and a wicket for Styris just got him up plus the Kiwis' win were the only 2 collects. Told ya "Dr Dre" was a bit special ;)

Result makes this group very interesting....

Back later today with more
