He's forgotten more about basketball than most of the current coaches in the game know. Jerry West knows what he's doing hiring Hubie. The guy can coach and more importantly with that team, he can teach.

hubies in to teach these kids the fundies

hubies in to teach these kids the fundies

establish a base offense and then will prob be gone within 2 years ... i think its a great idea, very few of these kids learn "everything" there is about life and hoops by 19 or 22 ...

I interviewed george karl a couple times, like him or hate him, hes an introspective man (even when loaded) but anyhow, he said one thing I esp. liked ... "One thing about our society I never understood, we graduate from college at 22 and then we think we dont need to keep learning."

You can be a wise guy and put any spin you want on that, but personally, i thought it was a very wise observation ...

I just hate the fact that he is not doing the games anymore for TNT. This guy was by far my favorite NBA announcer. Decent voice, excellent basketball knowledge, doesn't brag or annoy (Bill Walton comes to mind). Plus I loved how he always used rhetorical questions:

"So you ask yourself why are they double-teaming in the low post? Well the reason is..."

Wish him much luck with the Grizz as he always seemed to be a class act. But at the same time wouldn't be too upset if he was fired at the end of the yr and came back to sportscasting.

He will certainly add some life to the sidelines. This guy is as entertaining as he is informative.
