If my figures are correct, which may be questionable since I am doing this first thing this morning if you had bet all the dogs in the college bowls so far on the money line you you would be showing a nice profit.

If I have them all, so far there have been 19 games.

Underdog winners straight up:
TULANE
PITT - depending on your line
MISSISSIPPI
VIRGINIA
WISCONSIN
MINNESOTA
WAKE FOREST
PURDUE
TCU
FRESNO ST
MARYLAND - depending on your line

Potential 11-straight up dog winners

This would result in a very very nice profit to this point.

Guess the question now going into the final games is does this trend continue or because of the teams involved do the favorites win and cover the majority of the time.

My thoughts are that there will still be fair number of dog covers but not as many outright winners.

Any thoughts or comments?

This "dog" thing is going wild,,but my question is this..
Have the favorites in bowl games, prior to New Years Day, been better teams during the season,,BUT, are disappointed they were at a lessor bowl? Conversly, the dogs were happy and raring to play this bowl to prove a point against a larger school/conference?
What happens now? Are the teams quality on both sides? Are they equally happy to be there and are going for the win?
Bottom-line,,has the "dog" thing run it's course?

Thanks Scott-A,,I tend to agree with you. At stake is still a very high final ranking. I have to also think teams are there preparing for a win and not just "let the kids have some vacation fun" like some coaches have done in the earlier bowls.
It gets a little serious starting today and I expect the better teams to actually show up and play their best.
The team that has been serious over the years has been Penn State and I'm looking hard at that one today.
Good luck to all of you.

good point Big Joe..........game meant much more to Maryland last night, Fridge had said how important it was for the program. As for Tenn this was the first time they hadn't played on Jan 1 in sometime and it sure showed with their lack of desire
