Huggins Not Coming Now!!!

Just got the word. Huggins just took himself out of consideration for the WVU job I guess we will get some dumbass now!!
Thought the program was finally goin to turn back around.

wilson has alittle more inside then me,but what i was told today by a friend about 1 hour ago,that it was shot down because someone leaked money info which was the true amount and it made huggins look like he was doing the deal behind cinn back when he said all along he would let them know before hedid anything,and that also a booster i am told a car dealership owner big one in ohio and mich and ky,came up with some other type of outside funds to add a big chunk to his contract at cinny.

this comes from a person in the university so i know it is close to the reason.

but the leak was major more then the booster.

shawn finney head coach from tulane played with him at garrett cc in maryland then he went on to fairmont st.

butch haswell head coach fairmont was sent to fairmont after 7 years as top asst. at wvu to be prep for job but they might want to cut all ties with anyone that coached with dale.

Benedict Huggins played us like a fiddle...screw him...I am so disappointed and shocked...I thought it was a done deal...

Fletch...I am hearing Tim Floyd...We need a big time name to ressurect this dismal program....

RIGHT NOW, I THINK I WILL CURL UP IN A FETAL POSITON AND LIGHT MYSELF ON FIRE.

They need to get a big name to draw some big talent in the middle. They never have more than one good big guy. They have 3 real talented players in Lyles, Hargett, and Scaffino. I think they could start all three with 2 good big guys down low.
Make Lyles point and move Hargett to shooting guard so he can be free for more scoring. Put Scaffino into 3 position, he really started to play really well at end of season. They would have a real quick line up. Need some beef down low!!!

Primary reason he did not go was his family wanted to stay in Cincinnati and did not want to move to Morgantown. I assume though, the NBA will once again come a callin this summer.

the booster kicking in that money didnot hurt,he did just like rick p. did to unlv ,took everything they had and gave to louisville for a better offer,thats the way it is with coaching,i am not mad at all but that was his only chance he will ever have at wvu,and that is a direct quote from a higher up in the school.

don't think he cares to coach nba college coaches donot know how to handle the nba player,you can't yell and scream and be the boss over someone who makes 6-8 times more then you or you will be the one gone and he isnot that type of person not to be in charge.

hey he did whats good for him can't fault the guy on that.

Fletch...I heard that Pastilong and Hardesty dragged their feet all week getting him the final contract...then when it was offered alot of it was incentive based....I also heard what you did about the leak from Steve Farmer Attorney out of Charleston...I also heard that he was fawking using us for more jack from UC....

The thing that disturbs me the most is Huggins statement...no apologies to WVU..no nice words at all about his alma mater....I can tell you he just became the most hated man in WV.

i agree, probable flop in the NBA (like Pitino, Calipari and Carlisimo). Know Huggins wants national championship bad. Figures with a big rebuilding program at WVU, he would have a better chance at UC where everything is already in place for recruiting etc.

Disagree, Wilson that he used WVU for more $. Last I heard from good friend and former coach Chuck Machook, numbers comparable and the only issue was whether he and his family wanted to move. Just think family wanted to stay and liklihood of obtaining national championship are better in Cincinnati than Morgantown.

Think he could go to NBA for the $ if no liklihood of national championship at UC within next 3 years or so. Then he will get big k in NBA for 3-5 years, make big bucks, flop, then retire on farm near Morgantown.

eddie i know his wife really like cinn. and you are right about the title its more of a shot where he is at then trying to start all over.

as an ex-coach i can't be upset with him but i know lot of the state is,in this business got to look out for yourself,very hard to stay at the top so if you have a good deal with some security you got to take it.

would of loved to have him but thats the way the game is played but farmer did run his mouth so cinn. knew what they were up against,and thats the bad part,not against the rules but breaking unwritten one of coaching,useing someone besides youself to leak the info if you want it told you tell it. so he will lose respect from some on that but he doesnot care.

don't think he will ever live in wv now.

NOW THAT HE'S STAYING everybody is against him.
How quick we change.

Like I said in earlier post weeks ago.
His family had alot to do with his staying.
Money was not the issue.

I just glad he's staying I hope wv can find another coach to their liking.

I think Wetzel should get a news paper job with the National Enquirer. Not writing for them but delivering
