Thread starter.

I will keep this simple.

MICKELSON - 2 pts e/w @18-1 - his strike record in California belies his odds.

LEONARD - 1 pt e/w @ 100-1 I pt top 10 @ 9-1. Has won this before, came cback to form at Disney last fall and had a pipe opener at Sony.

A. KIM - 1pt e/w @ 35-1 - class act and back from injury - will be backing him a lot this season

Good luck all

One of my least favorite tournaments. I don't know why, I guess it's the 50 under scores. The amatuers gumming everything up doesn't help either. Going from 5 rounds to 4 is a good thing.

Kyle Stanley to win 90-1
I took this bet yesterday, I noticed his odds today are 40-1. Kyle is going to have at least 44 holes that are drive and a wedge. Now, if he can putt this week.....

72 holes
Stanley ov Reavie -110
Gay over Molder -105
Gay has good current form and did well last year at this venue. I like Molder too, I almost never fade him, but this one time, I will.

Haas -125 over Mickelson tournament

Playing Haas's history and upward momentum against Mickelson who hasn't played in this event since 2007 (if my research is correct).

David Hern -105 over Nick O'Hern tournament

Tailing above as it made me look into the matchup more.

Not happy with the line movement. Haas now +132 at 5dimes!

Any news on Haas out there I'm not aware of?

Round 1 play (2pts):

John Senden to beat Carl Pettersson +100 @ Paddy Power
Pettersson finished 2nd last week, but Senden's form is just as good: he finished 23rd last week to make it ten starts in a row in which he has finished in the top-30 ... in fact, he has finished in the top-30 in 14 of his last 15 starts. That consistency makes him ideal for match bets, but this is also a play based on event form - so crucial in a pro-am format. Whereas Pettersson has missed the cut three times from six attempts with a best finish of 35th (2006), Senden has missed the cut just once in ten attempts and finished in the top-10 three times.

[unofficial rd1 system play: Sabbatini tb Johnson Z +100]

Phil Mickelson(18/1) e.w.
Charles Howell(25/1) e.w.
Chris Kirk(55/1) e.w.
Justin Leonard(100/1) e.w.
Vaughn Taylor(125/1) e.w.
- - I already feel like I'm running with a 50 pound pack on my back this week after failing to get in my European Tour plays on Padraig Harrington(25/1) and Tom Lewis(50/1), and not opposing Schwartzel with Oosthuizen . . . I'm always looking for players that are "in a good place", and CHIII is brimming with all that; he will win during the winter or spring, but I don't feel real strong this is his spot; Phil looked engaged and elite in the Presidents Cup, portending some good stuff when he's schmoozing around Presidents and with the clock ticking during his 42nd year; my poorly aimed and poorly thrown dart landed on Leonard over Perez, Duval and DiMarco.

Round 2 play (4pts):

Mark Wilson to beat Seung-Yul Noh -110 @ 5Dimes
A strange position to find Noh after the conclusion of the first round: in 7th place. With the exception of the 2010 PGA Championship when he was 2nd after the opening round, but fell further back with every round thereafter, Noh had never been in the top-10 of a PGA Tour event until this year ... and then last week he opened with a 66 to be 5th after the first round of the Sony Open in Hawaii. On that occasion, every subsequent round was over-par as he finished 66th and, despite his 3rd place finish at the Q-School in December, I'd expect a similar pattern to occur this week. Wilson is more than capable of maintining his current 14th place position as these two move onto the harder courses in the rotation.

Round 3 play (2pts):

Harrison Frazar to beat Mark Wilson +120 @ Bet365 [available generally]
At eight-under-par after 11 holes, it looked as though 59 might be a possibility for Wilson yesterday. In the end, he was just 2-under-par for the last seven holes and this play is based on the likelihood of a reaction to yesterday's round. Frazar may be done in 39th place, but he's only eight shots off the pace with 36 holes to play, and in the form that he is in - 5th and 2nd in the last two weeks - he certainly won't view this title as being out of his reach. He has already three top-10 finishes in this event, whereas Wilson's best previous finish in this event is 33rd.
