I watched some of the Col - Marlins game on Thurs
I took the Under play (12 runs) partly due to the fact that scattered light rain and nasty cold weather was forecast, plus I didn't count on J Taverez having control problems in the first by walking several batters. In his defense, a ball hit over the left field fence was a pitch that was a low outside pitch that barely made it out and in any other park would have been a routine fly ball. It did start to rain in the late innings which seemed to keep the ball in the park a little more, whereas balls hit the same way earlier in the day were flying into the outfield like a hot air balloon
I took the Under tonight of 10.5 (-115)
I have some stats to make this a decent play if anyone is interested
Maybe someone knows, but the ball may carry more during the day, then at night, i.e., at least I have heard many of the play by play guys say that about certain parks but I'm not sure about Coors Field AM vs. PM.
Bottom line : The ball DID look like it WAS STILL JUICED UP!
This is a trend worth watching but from my angle what they have done doesn't seem to prevent the ball from carrying. . . .
