Army +14 over HOUSTON
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NEWSFLASH !!!
Army stinks, but Houston don't smell much better. At least, not by 14 big ones.
Okay, okay, so what if Army is 0-5 SU/ATS? Let's look at the bright side...their offense!
In their first five games, the Cadets offense scored 0, 14, 6, 24 and 27.
Those last two productions tells me Army's offense is starting to click. Okay, okay, so maybe it isn't as precise as the movements of a Swiss watch, but it's still worth noting.
As a matter of fact, in their last game hosting TCU (-17'), the score at the end of three quarters was 32-27, TCU. The Horned Frogs scored 14 in the final stanza and got the cover by a point and a half. But Army was in the game. These military academy type kids are a different breed. They will not quit.
Let's take a look at the Houston Cougars...
"Would someone please clean this cage? Man, does this stuff stink! Whew!"
Houston has just finished a three game road trip where they won the "you can have it, I don't want it, poor performance" award. They played at TEXAS, (bye), TCU and UAB. And Imo, this next part tells the story. They lost to the number by 5, 6 and 10. If those numbers would have been in reverse, then I would have liked HOUSTON in this matchup, but those numbers are telling me they're getting worse rather than better.
Army, otoh, has lost their last 2 games by 15' and 1'.
Seems to me, one team is improving and the other team is not improving.
One last note, when these two teams met last year at West Point, the PK 'em game went in Army's favor, 28-14.
I like Army plus the 14 big ones.
