well,was witout phone service for about 5 days(prior to the hurricane).....just got it back....some huge pine trees on my property survived the storm miraculously......one that was leaning and could have caused a problem.....a very scary situation....just happy it`s over....
on the fights....well,another strange decision.....this time the boxer gets the decision and the harder more damaging punches counted for little......imo,a gift.....ridiculous...
so,after a litlle rough stretch where i found myself reaching a little,we got brewer-barr under 6.5.,garcia -149 to win and byrd by decision-160 in(and you have to be kidding about the byrd decision)....
that`s i bad and 1 ridiculous decision in big fights back to back(imo)....i feel like a g-damned thief.....(yes,i saw the dlh-moseley replay and scored it closer the second time...still had dlh winning,but not as indignant as i was right after the fight)....
but,i`ll take it
boxing is in trouble,though....this crap is really stretching boxing`s credibility.....it`s becoming wrassling-esque.....it really saddens me ....
i`ve been a huge boxing fan since i was a pup during the days of the matthew saad muhammad,bobby chacon,ruben olivares,salvador sanchez,wilfredo gomez,carlos monzon,benvenuti, and on and on....i was a baby watching the friday night fights with my father watching floyd patterson,benny the kid paret,carmen basilio,gene fulmer(although i was very very young,i do remember some of it).....
but,i`ve never seen boxing in this kind of shape,rife with politics,dueling promoters,ridiculous sanctioning bodies,in the pocket judges......
something`s got to give....
people are gonna stop being interested....i hope theres some sort of backlash and some of this crap gets straightened out......i hope....:shrug:
