He BOWS to the King of Saudi Arabia.

He somehow is giving Uncle Fidel credibility (I will make no mention of the utter disgrace of 7 congressman/women who have zero concept of recent US/Cuban history involving the SAME PLAYER (Uncle Fidel).

He ignores North Korea and at the same time issues some pipe dream on how to disarm the US....errrr world from nuclear weaponry.

He is somehow going to give legitimacy to the Iranian's and act like we can actually trust anything they say/do by starting to "discuss" things with them. What chances do we have that this will turn up good with this lightweight in charge?

He goes to Europe with all kinds of concessions and receives NOTHING in return.

He acts like Russia and China are our best friends while they have seemingly had spies place software which could threaten enormous electric grids. If this isn't an act of aggression I am not sure what is.

We have failed to see any kind of leadership on the Somali situation today other than Hillary giving a quick snippet (my goodness was this woman ever right about this guy's lack of experience -- I would pay a years' salary for her in the White House about now).

He apologizes to the world for how horrible the US seemingly has been to him (yeah we heard muzzled sentiments of this in the campaign from him and his wife). Ironically today a ship for aid to Kenya from the Good Ol' evil US of A was hijacked by terrorists/pirates.

Now the NYT is going to report that he wants to open up the citizenry to Illegals who have no respect apparently for the sovereignty of the United States.

This is an absolute abomination.

And the Republican Party? Where are they? Crickets!

I don't know what it is but the King of Sadia Arabia has some kind of mystic power over all American Presidents the L30 yrs .... Lets just say that it was a bad move for Obama to Bow...( IT WAS SYMBOLIC)..... Obamas bow was like a lap dance to the blow jobs that bush/cheney gave without hesitation to the King & his people starting on Sept 11th 2001 until they left office... I can't see how any anti American republican loyalist would even bring this up. Obama bowed, our last president may have had sex with the guy. I have to believe, like-mined American first thinkers, agree that American interest played second fiddle to the Kings the last 8 yrs... Funny you bring this up ....

Do you really want to go down this, he ignores this N korea road ? Yes; bush/cheney talked tough but what else did they do ? For God sakes , the N Koreans tested a nuclear bomb ( a word the president couldn't pronounce ) on their watch ... The N Koreans had a in our face, july 4th missile lauching party while bush flipped steaks and cut brush, played cowboy down in Crawford.. Common, the guy bowed, your guys took it up the ass. Do you know what a foreign policy abomination is ? See the last 8yrs, on most if not all fronts !` Maybe it's just me but ..... I can't believe you even bring this up ...

Yes. Bowing to the Saudi King was a faux pas. But to focus on THAT, as opposed to the overwhelming amount of international good will generated by Obama on this trip is ABSURD.

Get over it.

why don't you have this moved to the trash..your wrong about everything... I don't know how many people will get in the line for : Our Cuban policy has been a success since castro took power... Why change now ? If it's broke, leave it that way, I guess... We can Invade Iraq and give lip service to democracy and helping the people.. but we can't change policy to help the people of Cuba/ America and the world ? Castro, that big bad mean commie bastard, we showed him didn't we... We won, we beat him with the surge of our convictions, didn't we ? What do you suggest. stay the course, wait for castro to die then wait for his brother to die, then what ?

what would you have ms. clinton say ??? talk tough... maybe throw in : your either with us or against.... or may something about axis of evil... or maybe those people that took that ship will be hearing from all of us real soon... Tough talk works.. right ? WHY EXACERBATE THE PROBLEM WITH WORDS.. Maybe it's just me but I'm tired of tough talk.. I want our government to solve the propblems... We have had enough theatrics the last 8 yrs....if bush/cheney had 4 > yrs... Do you think they were going to solve the problem with Iran. With N Korea ? with the rhetoric they were using ? My guess is NO.. just a guess ..

What concessions did Obama make in Europe that hurt America ??? When did he apologize for how horrible America was to him ???? Just because you are an American that thinks we can do better as individuals and as a Country doesn't mean you don't love America. There are no good old days for leaders.. You/Me/ We move ahead or we lose ground... America can't stand on, what we were or what we are but what will we be tomorrow...the next day and the next... Your kind of thinking works nostalgically, great for some retired people or people looking to graze out their existence on their glory days... Relationships have to be formed for today & tomorrow.. Age is not a number but a state of mind. I think some of us are to established to understand the state of mind required to succeed in the world/ challenges we face today as a Country.

Just 53% Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism
Thursday, April 09, 2009

Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.

Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better.

Investors by a 5-to-1 margin choose capitalism. As for those who do not invest, 40% say capitalism is better while 25% prefer socialism.

There is a partisan gap as well. Republicans - by an 11-to-1 margin - favor capitalism. Democrats are much more closely divided: Just 39% say capitalism is better while 30% prefer socialism. As for those not affiliated with either major political party, 48% say capitalism is best, and 21% opt for socialism.

(Want a free daily e-mail update? If it's in the news, it's in our polls.) Rasmussen Reports updates also available on Twitter.

The question posed by Rasmussen Reports did not define either capitalism or socialism

It is interesting to compare the new results to an earlier survey in which 70% of Americans prefer a free-market economy. The fact that a ?free-market economy? attracts substantially more support than ?capitalism? may suggest some skepticism about whether capitalism in the United States today relies on free markets.

Other survey data supports that notion. Rather than seeing large corporations as committed to free markets, two-out-of-three Americans believe that big government and big business often work together in ways that hurt consumers and investors.

Fifteen percent (15%) of Americans say they prefer a government-managed economy, similar to the 20% support for socialism. Just 14% believe the federal government would do a better job running auto companies, and even fewer believe government would do a better job running financial firms.

Most Americans today hold views that can generally be defined as populist while only seven percent (7%) share the elitist views of the Political Class.

Isn't pretty much all of North American and Europe (and the rest of the world for that matter) a mix of "capitalism" and "socialism"?

How can you say one is better than the other, when all countries are a mix of both? :mj07:

If America was ever pure capitalism, it was 100+ years ago. And even then, I'm not so sure.
