Can't tell you how pissed off that makes me - I don't mind losing a play - but to go down like that - just complete bs...who knows if Angels would have won - but they didn't get a fair chance to take this to the 10th inning...put a note next to this game - huge turning point of this series...

Had Angels ML, that was the worst call I have ever seen made in any sport by any official. How can you call the strike, the OUT, and then go back on it. WTF???

thats truly one of those inconclusive plays. theres no way you can say definitely that he did or did not catch it. truthfully, i think it shorthopped into the glove just barely. but i would rather, for the integrity of the game, that it gone into extra innings and let it get decided there. last think you want is for this to become the focal point of what has been an awesome 18 innings of baseball so far in the alcs. but what sucks is that the 1st/3rd base umps should have had a larger role in it because theyre the only ones who can see it. obviously, the home plate ump cant see it.

Yes, I think it was a bullshit call. But whenever it is remotely close you tag the batter. Catcher f-d up.

You want to get the call right, but here, if theres doubt you almost have to just say he caught it.
I mean this isn't football. The catcher knows if he caught it or not, for the most part.

Its not like, if he dropped it, the guy gets a free pass to first. If he dropped it, he has an easy throw to first to get him out.
If there was any doubt in the catcher's mind, he probably would have tagged him or thrown to first.
He had to have known he caught it and tossed the ball to the mound.
Horrible call.

If there is any doubt, you just throw it to first.

Guys throw it first all the time on balls they clearly caught. Bonehead play to just dribble it out there.

On the course!
You have to call him "out" because it was strike three!

The dropped ball is what the "arm to the side" meant.
