Guys and gals I need some advice and suggestions if you care to take the time to respond.

Well I am two for two having had money in both Aces and Camelot. I am sure by no means am I the only one in this situation. As its a big gambling time with NCAA tourney starting next week whom do I deposit more money with to enable me to keep playing and feel that if I should win some money I may get paid?

I understand what I have read regarding Aces and their excessives bonuses and bogus lines in an effort to get out of the hole. Camelot, I don't know what caused them all the problems and can only hope that Mark will live up to his word.

Correct me if I am wrong in my assumption here that there are more guys that lose and redeposit then make substantial withdrawals. All of us know that while not impossible most of us don't consistently make money year after year.

One of the best handicappers here is our leader Jack and if you look at his free picks page he has had a poor year with the exception of college football and he even said that he made bad money management decisions in that area but Florida really saved him in the Orange Bowl.

So how is it that more and more of these books seem to be in financial trouble? Are they raiding their own resources and as soon as they get some substantial capital they just take it out for themselves?

Are all these books being hit hard and heavy by the "wiseguys" for huge amounts of money? If that is true why wouldnt these "groups" go and bet legally in Vegas instead of also risking losing very large sums of money which I am sure some may have done in these two cases.

Is it the greed of the operators that they want these guys in hopes that they will hit a bad spell and lose major dollars?

I understand that nobody is in business to lose money but how is it that there are so many problems arising with these various books?

Any thoughts or answers to some of these questions would be greatly appreciated.

On the course!
I can only speak for me, but when i sent money to the off shores, it was never for more than $500

I don't think there are too many off shore "whales". By that, I mean people with the 5 figure accounts. I think most of us have less than a dime in an account, at any given time. Now, another thing is, how many players do these places have?

I think people just assume these guys have thousands of customers, when the numbers are probably more like a few hundred. (Active accounts....not just "members".)

Correct me if I am wrong in my assumption here that there are more guys that lose and redeposit then make substantial withdrawals. All of us know that while not impossible most of us don't consistently make money year after year.

Well, I'm not so sure.....at least dollar wise. If I put in $500 and double it, I would be less tempted to make a withdrawl than if I doubled a $5000 deposite. Thus, I think the smaller fish don't equall the pull of a few big guys.

So how is it that more and more of these books seem to be in financial trouble? Are they raiding their own resources and as soon as they get some substantial capital they just take it out for themselves?

Again, I can only speculate, but these guys have to have a hell of a "nut" each month. Payroll, advertising, phone bill, etc. These must be in the tens of thousands of dollars on a monthly basis.

Let's suppose you are a book with a good deal of client based capital. (deposits) You expect to win a little, and lose a little, but not get hammered! You would certainly not think the industry would be rocked by scandle, causing mass withdrawls by customers. The bottom line is, the places that are folding were managed poorly. If I make a bet with you, I don't "assume" you are good for it, I see the cash! You can't see that cash with these guys! That is our own damned fault for being so naive!!!!

We all laugh at the 900# guys who make claims about how great they are, but no one seemed to balk at the claims by the off shores of 25% bonuses, re-ups, contests with big prizes, yadda........ In retrospect, their ads are not much different. Ever notice how the most solid books seem to never have these gimmicks?

Once this run on the books is over, the solid will still be standing, and the rest will be swept away......Balance will be restored.

I am still curious as to what will happen with the book that made the offer to "help" the people fked over by Ace's. I am not trying to indict them, but that seems like a "too good to be true" offer, also. Aren't they giving away a little too much? Again, I don't want to sound like a complete dick towards the industry, but this sounds like the stories about people who are scammed by someone, and another scammer comes along to "save the day".

I have no faith in this industry right now, and hope that will change, but the smoke is far from clearing on this one.

Thanks for your input yyz lots of good points.

I have read on other forums that the book offering to make deals with Aces customers is very shaky at best.

The best thing to do is spread your money around. This is unusual (all these problems) and things will get solid again as time passes. Move you money in and out with paypal and neteller and spread your money around. ALL the books aren't going down. There is a panic right now and the running to get money out is not helping matters. Just be more careful, forget about bonuses, and don't put all your eggs in one basket. Things will be fine.

I was told early on to watch out. I am happy I was. Hey Redsfann get ready for lots of rain coming your way. And do not play Iowa in the tourney.

Jack -

Just wondering, since Stu gives out both sides, which one will you play? :brows:

How 'bout pics of the Feister, W.A.R. & Jeff "Cheesehead" Allen in the future?

LMFAO @ Jack & Stu.

I'm one of those dumbasses who fell prey to that piece of shit in my college days. What a nightmare that was. If only Jack had this site up 10 yrs ago, I would have saved myself a ton of cash.

Ah, how wonderful it is to see Stu again. Is he still in the business or is he in jail?
