I cashed out $1,230 from my online sportsbook and received a check from Canada.

This is the first time that I have cashed out money from an online sportsbook. I requested a check. It arrived this morning via FedEx. It is for $1,230 and it is issued from a Canadian bank. How do I cash it? Do I just deposit it in my checking account at the bank. Are they going to hassle me because the check is from Canada. It is payable in US dollars. Am I better off cashing it a currency exchange. Any insight would be appreciated! :shrug:

deposit it into your bank or if a check cashing will cash it that plan b

It will say USD on it. Just deposit it, and your bank might put a 10 day hold on it, mine does, but they have always gone through and usually less than 10 days.

As the others have said, you won't be able to cash it. You have to deposit it and they will probably put a 10 day hold on it. If you try to cash it you will be made to feel like a felon- just deposit it. Better yet switch to bitcoin.

Correct, 10 day hold is for special handling as the bank will have to process different since drawn on foreign bank.....no issues there..... good idea to switch to bitcoin,faster and less complicated......coinbase is good starting point.....I'm a cryptocurrency fan!!

I deposited the check in the bank this morning. It was extremely easy. They didn't question it all and there are no fees to process it. I was in and out in three minutes. I am going to switch to a cryptocurrency. I'll deposit again when college football and the NFL starts up again. I'll be looking for a low juice book. Thanks again for all the helpful responses.:0074
