Brother used to work at Menards. He said anything that was returned was tossed, didn't matter why. I thought that was fucked up. I asked if i could buy some stuff i needed at discount, he said they wouldn't allow it.

The Walmart must have lost power and the food temps were above the safe zones. It happens...... It does not matter the date, if product integrity has been breached, you throw the shit out. Liability issues if donated or sold and someone gets sick, .....most big boxes have insurance to cover losses. The young managers were a lot nicer than I would have been to this asshole.....people can die from contaminated foods, it's really that simple.

Makes sense. Why didn't the manager just say that?

They looked like they were 25 years old and wet behind the ears. They were probably afraid of saying anything with the guy filming and narrating. I would not have had a problem telling him

Also any food that is purchased and returned MUST be thrown out state laws.

Publix has a no questions asked policy. I've witnessed people return 5 maine lobsters. Oh wait just the shells of 5 maine lobsters. They said the lobster was tough. The didnt even have a receipt but the price tag was on. They got a publix giftcard. Also watched someone return a half eaten pork chop.

Just bag their stuff, and let the rest of it go.

It should be donated to the homeless. Sure, maybe they can't resell it for safety reasons. But it should be donated and the people who need it can determine whether or not they want it. Not just thrown away.
