No matter how hard I look at the Patriots - Steelers game I see it as a close, low scoring contest. I do not understand how the Steelers became this glamour team. They had a great year but they played a very weak schedual. They only played two teams, the Ravens twice and The Jets, who had a better than .500 record.

The Patriots also had a pretty good year. They are 12 and 3 in the last 15 games. Winners of 7 in a row. A lucky break against the Raiders sure but it wasn't like the Raiders where winning by 40 points at the time. The Raiders also had chances to stop the Patriots at the end of regulation and in the overtime and could not do it.

Is THE CALL the reason for the lack of respect for the Patriots? I say be careful when laying so many points.

Thunder,
The story with the line is due to the way the Steelers have been playing on D. They had a somewhat week schedule but the Pats was weaker. I am not talking schedules but overall teams. And for hot streaks, the Steelers have won 14 of 16 with the two losses being a blown onside kick call in the Cinc game and Kris Brown missing 4 FG's. But that is just my opinion.

Also if I am not mistaken, the winning team usually covers the spread in the playoffs.

I question the comment about the Pats having a weaker schedule... The Steelers had 4 games against teams that had a 500 or better record, while the Pats had 6.
The overall record of the Steelers opponents was 107-149, while the Pats opponents were 115-141...

I dont consider wins/losses the total strength schedule. I dont consider Miami a quality team. They were overrated. I feel the AFC Central is one of the best conferences in the league. That is just my opinion.

You don't consider wins/losses the total strength schedule? It's pretty absurd to look at it any other way. Last I knew a good/bad team was judged on how many wins they had. Or losses.

Any fan can have his or her allegiances to their team and division but it seems rather shortsighted to blindly state that the AFC Central is one of the best just because your team is in it.

I'm sorry, but I'll take a division that has 3 playoff teams, a Colts team that only lacks a good defense but has an explosive offense and was being lauded as a SB contender before the season, over the AFC Central any day of the week.

Code Red, you just stated you ignorance in your last post. Wins/Losses has alot to do with it but the quality of your division does as well. Miami made the playoffs due to a week division. Look what happened when they played the Ravens. The Jets were highly overrated. Plus the Steelers beat them handily. The Ravens as overrated as they were took it to your dolphins and Colts. And I dont give a shit what a team was supposed to do. Minnesota was supposed to go to the SB as well. I didnt state that our division was the best because my team is in it. It was the best in the AFC. I would go with the NFC West as the best in football. The AFC Central battles with the NFC Central as the second best. We will just see when the Burgh waxes the Pats ass this weekend. Ask anyone at MJ's, I bring knowledge not just about the Steelers. I usually wish everyone good luck, but not you!!!
