...and the only prescription is more ISNER. :142smilie

Seriously, though, what am I missing here? Since, these two have never played before, I went back and took a look at H2H for Verdasco against two big booming servers similar to Isner's game(Karlovic, Roddick). Nando is a stellar 3-12 against these two. Yes, I know Isner is not as experienced, but he is playing remarkably well and seems to be confident he can do more damage. Crowd will certainly be behind him, as well.

Add in the fact that tiebreakers look to be in the cards here. Isner has now won 16 out of the last 17 breakers he has been in. This is astounding and Big John must have the utmost confidence from this, just knowing he will find a way to win 7-6. On the other hand, Verdasco has a tough time with the pressure in the breaker. After he lost two breakers to GGL earlier in Cincy, he was on a rough stretch of losing 8 tiebreakers in a row. Since then I think he won one or two, but in my mind, there are certainly some mental fragilities in those stats.

I simply can't pass up the opportunity to back this big man's continued resurgence at these odds.

1.5 units on John Isner +200

Good Luck to All,

Also, since I'm a sucker for a huge tennis dog, give me some of Robredo +2000. Much, much smaller than the Isner play. Call me crazy, but I don't think Fed Express is on top of his game right now. The NCAA champ Britton broke him a few times, Greul played him tough in some sets and even a somewhat injured Lleyton Hewitt tested him on serve and took a set. Sure, he's still winning, but the Spaniard has excellent history here at the US Open and is no slouch. He took Djokovic to the limit last year in a 5-setter. Tommy may just bore Federer to death with his game. Horrible H2H record against Roger, but I'll take a shot and go against the trend. If Fed wins this one, I'll also be backing Soderling and his horrible H2H against Roger. I know, I know...pure lunacy, but I don't think Fed wins the US Open this year and I'm going to go down backing that opinion. Low risk, high reward. Betting against the almighty Fed, I've officially lost it. Where's crow I need some support? :mj07:

Isner just can't hang in this one it looks like.
Biggest game of the match right here.
He can't dropped the 3rd or he is done.

My house is on Fed not to win the US this year.
I would have put more, but i'm rather short on cash right now after finishing paying rent. :mj07:

PS: Fed could still play one legged and beat the spaniard. :142smilie .

Though, anyone betting against Fed gets my approbation.

Yeah, this is why I don't often post my plays. :mj07:

Stupid bets...just dumb. "Bore"do is weaponless and you have to have at least one very strong part of your game to even think of beating Fed. Roddick just wasn't equipped to expose Isner's mobility issues like Verdasco accomplished. Enjoyed the first set, but once I saw the second set play out I was wanting to buy back the bet. It was elementary after you saw Verdasco's game plan that he began working to perfection in the 2nd set and there forward. Oh well, got it all back and more with the 'Canes tonight. Thank goodness for college football. :00hour

Won't be posting it, but let's just say this won't be the last time I bet against Fed. ;) Oh, and I'm glad you are around, crow. Thanks for coming to the aid of my anti-Fed stance. The rest of his draw should pose more of a threat. Please feel free to chime in where and to whom you think the Express is going to lose.

I have been rather busy lately, and didn't watch a single open match.
But by experience i would advise to bet conservately rather than for fun, and preferably on women.

Of course Fed will be hard to stop; if Rafa reaches the final and is healthy, i would tip him in a heartbeat. As would say Becker, " He only has to see my face to start playing great".

There's one player that's good value for money right now and that's Del Potro (+1400 to win straight). Murray is the only thing standing between him and the final ( i believe Nadal to be a lesser threat). And he has the big game, youth and ambition to trouble Fed over the distance.

So if one wants to play, i would take Fed to win (-120) and for the same amount Del Potro (+1400).

If Rafa reaches the final buy everything back.
